Anyone read anything about the people who owned the house? Wonder if insurance covers the loss or are they just screwed?

If someone was smart they'd make it a tourist attraction. And have nightly marshmallow roasts.

The owner(s) of the cabin can file a property loss claim against their homeowner insurance carrier and their insurance carrier will subrogate against San Bernardino County Sheriff and San Bernardino County (The Sheriff’s deputies lobbed pyrotechnic tear gas into the cabin), for reimbursement of the claim payment to their insured property owner.

None of that would preclude the property owner from filing a civil suit against the county for financial recovery of costs from the loss of their property.

There are a lot of riders on our fire insurance, but I don't remember anything about an Act of San Bernadino County Sheriffs
