Police in Christopher Dorner standoff launched incendiary tear gas into cabin
By CHUCK BENNETT and DAVID K. LI From Post Wires Last Updated: 6:14 AM, February 14, 2013
Murderous ex-cop Christopher Jordan Dorner wanted to go out in a blaze of glory and the sheriffs deputies who surrounded his California mountain hideout provided the flames.
The San Bernardino County cops torched the wooden cabin with highly flammable incendiary tear gas as Dorner took refuge Tuesday, apparently burning him to a crisp.
Burn this mf--er! one officer shouted as they had Dorner who had earlier killed a deputy and seriously wounded another pinned down in the cabin, according to police radio transmissions.
Amid sounds of gunfire, voices can be head shouting, Burn it down! and Shoot the gas!

Go back to your polishing. Or wake up, your choice.
Now that the LAPD knows how to determine innocence or guilt without a trial, I propose the following:
Let’s eliminate judges, courtrooms and due process. Let the police decide who is guilty and let them decide on and carry out the punishment.
What could possibly go wrong. We’ll save billions of dollars and put thousands of lawyers out of business.
SMACKDAB ON THE HEAD, my FRiend!
By the time they come a-knocking, calling your solicitor/barrister/attorney/lawyer/shyster/press/ACLU/NRA will be an excercise in futility.
Can’t beieve how naive some people are ............
If it wasn’t so sad, I would be ROTFLMAO at comments like Keylargo’s and some of the others on here.
I only wish that EVERY high school civics class in this country had to take a few field trips to TRULY let them see how this is going to end if they permit it to continue on the present course (note - the trips MUST run consecutively and WITHOUT any significant financial aid from home):
(1) a visit to the German death camps
(2) a month long stay with a blue collar family in a communist controlled country
(3) ditto for an islamic family in a non-petroleum funded contry
(4) ditto for an islamic family in a petro funded country
(5) ditto for an aveage family in a dictatorship somewhere in Africa
(6) ditto for an average family in a European Socialist country
They would devleop a much more rational view of life on this plant if every high school graduate had to endure my six month “Studies in Freedom Abroad” program.
*shrugs*
It points to a complete loss of overall control and lack of communication between departments/jurisdictions.
No way in heck was any of this a truly well coordinated operation.
It was “How to do a Charlie Foxtrot 101” on live coverage.
If he’d stayed in LA he’d likely still be alive.
To be fair, it was the Sheriff’s department that did the torching.
It was the LAPD playing shoot ‘em up in the city though.
Yeah, the conspiracy nuts have always had a crush on Waco and Ruby Ridge. It pees on the whole “I’m going to wait out Y2K in my bunker” strategy since in both cases, it didn’t work out too well. I can’t recall any time the strategy of “Let’s barricade ourselves in the house and wait it out” ever worked when you are surrounded.
If the folks at Waco and Ruby Ridge had waved the white flag, they would probably be alive today. The 35 people who escaped during the siege seemed to fare better. But Koresh chose another path. There is as much evidence that the Davidians lit the fire and it being caused by tear gas rounds.
FBI surveillance tapes from devices planted in the wall of the building record a man inside the compound saying “Everybody wake up, let’s start to pray”, then, “Pablo, have you poured it yet?” ...”Huh?” ... “Have you poured it yet?”... “in the hallway”... “things are poured, right?” CEV1 receives orders to spray two bottles of tear gas into left corner of building.[69]
Go back to your fantasies, Maurice, and let the men talk now.
It is a complete absurdity to compare this incident to potential gun seizures. Dorner had killed one deputy and wounded another one while trying to escape from the cabin in question. It was a highly dangerous situation for the LEOs in question, and they responded to lethal force in kind. No tyranny involved, just self defense.
Now, go ahead and make your rebuttal by posting pictures of LAPD screw-ups in this matter, even though the LEOs in question are San Bernadino Sherrif's Department. It makes about as much sense as your other whines on this subject.
FBI surveillance tapes record a male Davidian saying, “The fuel has to go all around to get started.” Then a second male says, “Well, there are two cans here, if that’s poured soon.”
While I am unable to delve into the mind of the person saying those words, "Burn the M-F'er down!!!" would appear to be a reference to the cabin that they wanted burned down -- not the perp hiding in the cabin.
Worrying only about Dorner is unbelievably shortsighted.
Do you suppose there will be television in your cell? If you’re an older gentlemen, to which you appear to refer, I hate to tell you that you’d likely be picked for execution if you’re not up to the task of manual labor. As a combat veteran, I would assume that you at least can appreciate the gravity of a situation where a government (OURS) orders the military or a “civilian defense force” to begin confiscations by going door-to-door or making “safety checks” on those whose 4473s they happen to have “PROVING” that they have a weapon.
I come from a long tradition of combat veterans, and while I’m not one myself, I’ve been in plenty of VFW halls and around plenty of kitchen tables in my day to have heard stories from men who would go so far as to call you a coward for not standing up to jackbooted thugs. I will not deign to do so, as I do not know you, but if you wish to live your final days in misery, let that be your wish.
Also, let’s make sure an important distinction is made here. I have no feelings of remorse for Dorner. He’s a cold-blooded murderer who made it plain as day that he’s not intent on living a long life.
If law enforcement comes to my door to take my property and remove my ability to defend myself and my family, I’ve done nothing up to that point to justify them incinerating me, my family, or my home. I’ve not murdered anyone in revenge, I’ve not posted a manifesto online, I’ve not broken any laws. Our Founders understood that the law of man can NEVER usurp the law of nature, and that if the law of man does ever attempt to do so, it is the duty of every FREE man to peaceably reject the law of man and live under the laws of God.
I, for one, will not be subjugated by a government intent on doing harm to myself or my family, and if that means dying for a cause that I see as just and proper, then, sir, consider me bacon and I would be honored for you to roast your marshmallows upon the open flames of my fat American ass.
It cheapens valid expressions against fascism and tyranny to compare this incident to such.
Exactly my concern! That people on FR cannot or downright refuse to see the slippery slope to tyranny that this could foreshadow, if true, astounds me.
That was LAPD being stupid. The cabin was San Bernadion Sherrif's Department doing and they had just had a deputy killed and another wounded by the perp trying to escape the structure in question. VASTLY different situations.
What is astounding is posters comparing a hot shootout with a perp who had killed a deputy trying to escape from the location in question to creeping fascism.
This is a nice example to learn about fighting with the government on your own doorstep. Just don’t do it.
Invite them in for snacky cakes and tea, instead.
If you want to fight, you pick the time & place and your odds of being effective go up exponentially. (Which is easy, since the odds of success in a stand-off inside your home are effectively zero.)
Just preparing him for his afterlife.
Not as hot as he was yesterday.
I get all that, but my question was, did the cops know there was no one else in the cabin or were they content with dealing with "collateral damage?"
