American Jews are frightened of making an issue seem more important to Jews than others, Zionist Organization of America President Morton Klein said on Tuesday.

The ZOA, which is a member of the Conference of Presidents, was founded in 1897 and is what Klein calls the oldest pro-Israel [organization] in the United States.
Discussing his lobbying effort in Washington aimed at blocking the confirmation of secretary of defense nominee Chuck Hagel, Klein said the ZOA was, aside from the Republican Jewish Coalition, a partisan group, the only major Jewish group to publicly oppose Hagel and [John O.] Brennan. US President Obama has nominated Brennan to head the CIA.
The AJC, AIPAC, ADL [and] the Conference of Presidents never came out and said we oppose this man [Hagel] because he is horrible on Iran, he is horrible on terrorism, horrible on Israel, horrible on fighting radical Islam, Klein said. I was called by major Jewish leaders, personally called, and [they] told me to stop our campaign against Hagel.

Many young American Jews are losing their connection with Israel and their Jewish identity due to successful propaganda campaigns on college campuses, Klein said.
I have found, as I speak on campuses throughout the country, that Jewish kids dont understand the reality of the Arab war against Israel, and they become ashamed of Israel.

He’s at least partly right. A lot of American Jews have abandoned faith in God for a “happier, freer lifestyle.” (Like many American Christians, alas). Worse yet, there are mant self-hating or anti-semitic people withJewish parents or grandparents — you know, the type a certain “president” likes — the result is that American support and help to Israel depends mostly on millions of good Christians
Hagel’s not just bad for Israel - he’s bad for the United States - and for the Republican Party. He’s going to be the fall guy when things go wrong - and as usual - that will enable the MSM to blame conservatives.

Who are AJC, AIPAC and ADL that I should care what they say about anything. I do not know AJC, AIPAC and ADL, neither will I quietly accept Hagel.
The problem with these other (left-leaning) Jewish organizations isn't their support for Hagel, but rather their love for Obama, which is the underlying reason for acquiescing to the Hagel nomination.
If they had any integrity at all, they would have opposed Obama in last year's presidential campaign just like they should be opposing Hagel's nomination now.
Among American Jews abroad in Israel last year, 85% of the presidential vote went to Romney over Obama. There's a pretty valid reason for that, but apparently this bunch of Jewish organizations that Klein is criticizing doesn't get it.
Barack Obama could nominate David Duke for Secretary of Education and liberal Jews would "keep a low profile."
Sorry to say, you're right. But in today's political world, it would be hard to imagine a Republican president who would nominate a man (or woman) with Hagel's views on the Middle East for Secretary of Defense.
Integrity? I question even their authenticity. These people live in their suburban mansions, and have their fund-raising lists, and somehow claim to represent Jewry at large, while not knowing the first thing about how other Jews live, nor caring, let alone what being Jewish means. How dare they endorse and support Obama in anyone’s name but their own. How dare they hold their tongues about Hagel, but still claim that they are leaders of any sort, let alone Jewish leaders, supposedly representing Jews. Kahane had their number. They’re beneath contempt and irrelevant, an object lesson in how not to lead.
Not true with THIS Jew. I called Rep. Peter King to express my displeasure with a possible Hagel appointment. I don’t bother calling my Senators Schmoo-mer and Jelly-brand, as they are class-A liberal anal orifices, nor the no-brand Asian replacement for Mr. Turner (she has family ties to organized crime) after he was gerrymandered out of running again.
