The media are predictably gushing and fawning over Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday, but far fewer Americans watched him speak than did last year.
In fact, this is the lowest viewership of a SOTU address since Obama took office.
According to Nielsen, 33.5 million people watched the address Tuesday evening.
This was down 11.3 percent from the almost 38 million that watched in 2012, and down a staggering 36 percent from the over 52 million that watched his first address in 2009.
Tuesday's viewership also ranked amongst the lowest since Nielsen began tracking these addresses in 1993.
Only Bill Clinton's 2000 address garnered fewer viewers.
As they say, What Difference does it make?
I was one that did not watch
I was one that did not watch
I didn’t watch his State of Delusion address either.
I assume the true faithful were listening on their Obamaphones.
I still find it amazing that the Obama campaign found the votes they did in November. They found a way to convince people that don’t know anything, don’t care, and are suffering economically to all get to the polls. How does an organization get millions of apathetic people to simultaneously get up and go stand in line to vote? Then they all return home and tune out anything of substance again. It is surprising, and one hell of a logistics effort.
(yes, some is fraud, but the fact is they got much higher turnout that they should in this environment. Essentially, they convinced millions to go out despite the fact that they are not doing well in the current environment)
Perhaps it had the lowest viewership...
but on the bright side, record numbers of Sock Drawers were straightened and re-arranged... you might even say these drawers were transformed.
We’ve heard all those lies before.
“I was one that did not watch”
The Westminster dog show was much more relevant to me than the puke that spewed from husseins mouth.
Didn’t watch the Obama SOTU, had more important things to do, like changing the cat’s litter boxes.
Yeah but how many Democrats watched it two or three times to hit that number?
bttt
Can’t help it. Everytime I see that title I read it as Only 33.5 million watch Obama’s STFU address...
33.5 million people really need to get a job, a life and a hobby.
The "media" will make sure no one can ignore their selected boy-king.
Banana Joe was a heck of a lot more interesting than Bananabama.
How many times can Obama rehash the same BS and have an interested audience?
I don’t think I personally know a single person who watched.
