Two San Bernardino County Sheriffs deputies have been shot while pursuing a carjacking and home-invasion suspect in the Angelus Oaks area of Big Bear.
A law enforcement source confirms to the Associated Press that the assailant is triple-murder suspect Christopher Dorner, who is said to be heavily armed in engaging in gunfire with authorities.
Repeated gunshots could be heard on Glass Road west of 7 Oaks just after 1:30 p.m. and officials requested an armored vehicle to help remove several injured deputies from the scene. A SWAT team was also called in to set up a perimeter of the area. KCAL9′s Carter Evans, who was reporting nearby, is safe despite loud gunfire that could be heard during his live report.
The earlier incident at a home in the 1200 block of Club View Road, which is located near Highway 38 and Glass Road, was reported around 12:20 p.m. The suspect reportedly tied up a couple and stole their 2008 four-door, white Dodge 4X4 truck, which is registered to nearby Camp Tahquitz. One of the victims was able to escape and alert authorities.

“Too bad they wont let a mobile donut truck into the area.”
Why doesn’t the mobile doughnut truck have enough holes in it already?

From what I’m hearing they’re saying they didn’t start the fire. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

I respectfully disagree. This is very run of the mill stuff.
Dorner’s story is no different from Jesse James, Pretty Boy Floyd or the North Hollywood bank robbers.
His only claim to fame is that he tried to gin up a phony dispute with LAPD and lost. He had his opportunity in the courts all the way up to the Court of Appeal.
He’s just another dangerous sociopath.

The problem is millions of people will believe the cops started the fire. And since they wouldn’t allow news choppers overhead or reporters anywhere near the scene they can’t prove otherwise. It would have been better for the cops if there was video of the fire starting from inside BEFORE they through the flash bang grenade. Hopefully the cops were filming it.

Anyway, I imagine the cops consider him bought and paid for.
I can imagine Strutter Martin's character yelling at the concerned county deputies standing by in "Cool Hand Luke" as the prison guards drag away the mortally wound Paul Neuman's character:
"Get outta the way!! He's OURS now.!!!"

All the cabins you see on Google Maps are rentals with no one there. Hostages were in the home near where the first burned out PU was found on Thursday.

“Surprised” isn’t the word, my FRiend.
Tell you what, though...
When a report which I consider credible shows that drones were really used to kill Dorner with a Hellfire missile...I will apologize to you, hat in hand.

People are grossly misunderestimating this character. The only real mistake he's made so far is advertising his intentions
Are you serious?????
People have been OVER-estimating this character.
The media has made Chrissy the back alley assassin into Dela Force, Team Six triple threat. (gag!!)
He may have been in the Navy and a LA cop but that doesn't make him the second reincarnation of Rambo.
He ain't nothing but a sad sack that has failed at every aspect of his miserable life and nows his chance to share the misery.
Assassins are cowards.
He killed three, now four people by ambush.
Little more than shooting Kindergarten kids. as we have witnessed that any insane teenager can do.
As for evasion skills, he is on the loose only because of ineptitude of his pursuers and a whole lottta luck.
He first attempt to flee to freedom was an attempt to steal a boat and flee (presumably to Mexico) was foiled by the sudden appearance of it's owner and the fact this "Navy Man" forgot to secure the boat's tether line and the rope was fouled in the propeller.
Somehow he drops off his id and wallet to fool the cops that he made it to Mexico.
Except he F#cks that up as we soon see.
Next he jumps in his truck and promptly breaks it's axle before making it to his "Mountain Fortress of Solitude" and is forced to abandon a portion of his supplies and weapons.
He sets fire to the vehicle and the resulting flames ensure authorities will find it sooner(Our boy's so bright!)
For the next week he lays low in a cabin, eating cheetoes and belching the same in the same area as the truck and thus, making it only a matter of time until he is discovered by even the dullest but diligent LEOs
Trapped in a burning cabin surrounded by LEO. Failing (again)to achieve of his life's goals, of killing fifty LEO.
Too Bad.
Thus thus the situation so far.
Yep, he's dangerous and should be treated the same but please don't fall for the hype the media is giving this creep.
He's a loser who will all too soon to be forgotten....

Dorner was tracked by a drone—that has been reported by various SoCal media outlets. So, whose drone was it? I’m not an expert on the LAPD, but I haven’t heard of any drone program associated with that department; if anything’s going on, it’s probably experimental.
Meanwhile, one of the major DCGS hubs for the Air Force is located at March ARB, north of LA. As a ground station for drone ops, the base has the intelligence assets to receive and report on what the drones are monitoring. There is an even larger DCGS operation at Beale, well north of LA. Of course, location is largely irrelevant, since the intel teams can monitor product from drone ops around the world. And, the primary base for drone flight ops is at Creech AFB, NV, roughly 300 miles from Big Bear. Drones fly out of that location all the time on training missions, and the crews also handle flight/sensor control for drone missions around the world.
Lastly, the Obama Justice Department claims the president has the authority to use drones against American citizens who pose an imminent threat to national security. Dorner may not die from a Hellfire, but it’s just a matter of time before someone uses a federal drone to take out a bad guy. Personally, I don’t have a problem with Dorner meeting a grisly end, but the constitutional implications of domestic drone employment are pretty frightening.
