House Speaker John Boehner, in advance of President Obama's State of the Union address, said Tuesday that he doesn't think the president "has the guts" to seriously address the country's debt and deficit.
The speaker aired his concerns during a breakfast outside his office on Capitol Hill with anchors and reporters covering Obama's address Tuesday night.
He said he's pessimistic about the odds the president will tackle the country's long-term spending problem, which he sees as the biggest threat to America's future.
"I don't think he has the guts to do it. He doesn't have the courage to take on the liberal side of his own party -- never has," Boehner said.

A pretty lame attempt by Boner. Obama is not Marty McFly. He’s not going to do something stupid just because they called him chicken.

Boehner doesnt get it. The issue is not the deficit or debt. Obama can say he would address that with even more higher taxes.
The issue is out of control SPENDING. Our side needs to redefine the terms of debate

Obama very much has the guts. And if it comes time to starve his constituents out, he'll do it in a second. Currently, he still needs those unwashed low info, government teet suckers to continue the destruction.
If Boehner "got it" or had the guts to be honest, he'd say that Obama doesn't have the desire to tackle deficit.
Obama lacks the competence to do most things presidential. Financial matters are beyond him. He cannot remember numbers. He gets tongue-tied trying to explain anything without using the TOTUS.
He does not know how to reach out in a bi-partisan manner. Instead he insults. It's time for a change. Stop Obama and the democrats before the US is ruined beyond repair - Obama is incompetent to correct the ECONOMIC DEPRESSION the country is in.
The answer is obvious - you cannot get out of debt by borrowing more and more no matter how you invest it or donate it to the unions. Borrowing puts you deeper in debt.
Agreed. Obama is an idealogue. But he's also incompetent and that works to our favor.

I would say If there is an increase in revenue you win. If there are only cuts in spending I win. If there are both, we both lose.

It’s congress’s job to manage the finances and the check-book. It’s congress’s job to reign in idiot presidents, and they DO exist.
Congress isn’t doing ITs job. I blame ALL of congress, both houses, for the mess we are in. They allowed it. They pretty much tossed their power, and authority into the trash. They forgot who voted them in. They forgot that they can override Presidential veto’s. They, more than anybody, have the ability to pull this nation out of the mess it’s in. And they aren’t doing it.
Instead, they sit as servants to a tyrant, quaking in their balless pants at the thought of growing a pair.
Shame on them.

This is why Obama is running from the sequester. He can demogogue Boehner (effectively) when it's only the GOP who proposes responsible legislation. But this one passed with bipartisan support.
