You're welcome. Can't stand pushy/nasty newbies. When I joined those years ago, I kept my head down until Freepers got to know me. In those days, Freepers would take a newbies head off if you weren't respectful.
I went on one cruise years ago and would NEVER get on another ship. My husband's company, insurance company, filled that ship with company people and high selling insurance agents, to leave Miami and go to Nassau, then to an island the ship owned, then back to Miami. I don't know the name of the ship company.
When the ship had to cross the gulf stream not long after we left shore, the pitching movement caused almost everyone aboard to get nauseated and throw up. We had gone to the dining area when it hit us. We left the dining area to go back to stateroom. On the way to the room, people were throwing up in stationary ash trays, or just on the floor. It was horrible. After we got in room, husband threw up but I just stayed horribly nauseated.
About 7 am next morning, we were still sick, but an announcement came on waking us up, telling us to go to the deck for life saving instruction. Both of us did not go - we thought it was more likely we would faint/fall and kill ourselves than having to go overboard.
We were too sick to eat and ate nothing until we got to Nassau. We were so glad to get off that ship onto ground. We were able to eat breakfast on shore and keep it down. Some of our group left the ship then and took a plane back to the US. We made it back to Miami on the ship without getting sick again - didn't go through that turbulence again. After we were sick, I found out it was the gulf stream that caused that but we were not told that would happen nor were we told they had sea sickness pills they could give us.
Never again will I turn my body over to a freaking ship.
Know how you feel. Mentioned earlier that I got norovirus on a cruise. Miserable to say the least.
Never again...
I would spazz if I saw someone vomiting, much like an arachnophobe would spazz at the sight of a spider.
I’ve been on two cruises and everything went well.
