Carnival is the Costco of cruising. They generally deliver a consistent but cheap product. Not bad and it gives many people a chance to do something they would not normally get to do.

But the food is dormitory quality (the days of all you can eat steak and lobster are long gone), booze is expensive, little brats run all over the ship 24X7, etc.

Ive been on 2 or 3 carnival and your observations are in my estimation accurate. I live in FL. carnival is known here as a “party” ship. We prefer Princess, a little slower pace and a little more peaceful (guess I’m getting old). lol Not as many kids. The whole experience is IMHO a cut above carnival.

We usually take our own adult beverages..........there are ways to get around expensive drink prices, it just takes a little ingenuity!
