GE has new 90 watt Watt-Miser bulbs on sale now due to the 100 watt incandescent bulb ban. You can find them at Wal-Mart. They are rated at 1450 lumens. But if you don't mind paying more, GE also has 72-watt halogen bulbs (rated as "100-watt equivalent") which put out 1490 lumens, so with those you get slightly better brightness with less energy being used.

Nice little scam they’ve got going innit?
I thought of GE the other day when Lansing Michigan Mayor Virg Bernero complained about private citizens buying guns at better prices than the city was paying for the buyback. Instead of paying more themselves, Bernero wants the competition outlawed.
GE also got carbon credits for closing factories here which they immediately reopened in China where they sold the carbon credits to themselves.
plus you can buy an wattage you want there 100, 200, 300, heck! 1,500 if you so choose!!! AND you can buy them in bulk by the case and stock up.
Thanks for sharing this tip...I never thought of buying bulbs online.
Which bulb are you referring to that lasts 20,000 hours? I am clueless when it comes to getting the right bulbs.
do you have a recommended light bulb sales site to share?
Replace our leaders, not our lightbulbs!
GE is a big reason for the ban on incandescent light bulbs.
They were apparently tired of selling light bulbs for 50 cents so they lobbied Congress.
Now they are selling these for a few bucks.
A beautiful thing when global companies have such an effect on our govt don’t ya think?
I am only a customer, and a case is a lot of bulbs.
I am aware of that. That’s why I said it was ‘pretty smart’. :)
All I can say is that we actually do like the light they put off. They’re really nice.
My house. Even have an extra one for when one of the others goes out. Why chunk something that's perfectly good just because a new version came out. The wide screens only came out to accomodate hussein's ears.
They’ve been phasing out the higher watt bulbs so that the dim bulbs in Congress and the Federal bureaucracy don’t have to feel so inadequate. Most of them seem to be in the 15 watt range.
You can get 100 watt rough surface bulbs... not cheap www.1000bulbs.com
i could never understand halogen bulbs
they are so HOT that has got to be a huge energy loss.
I used bulbs.com
thanks for the reminder!!! i should stock up on some of the 75’s
where do you buy them online that are better quality like that?
Upstate NY gets a yearly cold wave for about a week where temps can go way down. No garage so truck is out in the open. I stick a 100 Watter on my creeper. Helps keep the oil warm. Works great on a snow blower too.
Thanks Dennis. I stocked up last year and bought 300 100’s. The Gov’t is insane. Hate their low flush toilets too!

I’ve been using these 20,000 hour ones for years and never had a single one burn out yet.
