No, we don't "ought to hear what he has to say." No more then we "ought to hear what Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has to say" or we "ought to hear what Nidal Malik Hasan has to say".

Shooting people because your tender wittle feelings got hurt reduces my interest in "what you have to say" greatly. The moment you start targeting people who had nothing to do with your little tender feelings being hurt my interest in "what you have to say" drops to somewhere around Zero Kelvin.

Based on the manner in which the LAPD is blasting anyone (even remotely) associated with the perp, even when that 'association' means the doppelgangers are two hispanic females rather than one large male, that is highly indicative that the LAPD is not interested in arresting the guy. They simply want to kill him. Now, it is easy to see why they would want to do that, considering the perp killed two cops, wounded one other, and killed a lady who was both a daughter and fiance of cops. However, they are supposed to be officers of the law, and if the perp was to surrender they should take him into custody and take him for trial. However, we all know the LAPD will not do that.
