I favor gun confiscation...from the LAPD! If they must have a gun, force ‘em to carry their one bullet in their breast pocket à la Barney Fife.
Don't send them back there, that is where they learned to be the hooded thugs they are now.
If they would have learned to treat everyone with a little more respect, the cops would not be looking over their shoulder every time they hit the street.
Also their employers would probably more willing to help them catch the bad guys.
