Looking at Obama's policies, I see a well thought out Machiavellian strategy designed to impact America in the worst possible way well after he has gone for decades to come. Small businesses have comprised the backbone of America's economic strength and vitality, and burdening them with programs like ObamaCare only serves to sap our ability to get out from underneath these very economic traps he has set up with such sinister intent.
And then there's the drone controversy that is the president's pet project, one he has championed as his very own, yet represents the very issue he profusely had been railing against, having gone global on his non-stop apology tour in his first term, condemning the evil that America is, had wrought against the world.
Yet, despite the questions of its legality, he continues to utilize drones, only recently defending its use as legitimate as more and more liberals speak out for allowing the carnage of collateral damage to continue, killing innocents abroad, wiping out entire families in the process.
I haven't seen a single mention of this, but it is my adamant belief that the sole purpose of his utter dedication to the use of predator drones has nothing to do with fighting terrorism as it has to do with his deliberate sowing of hatred, vehemence against America by survivors, witnesses for generations to come.
Isn`t that the end game, to herd all the sheeple into ‘single payer’ aka total Gov.t controlled ObamaDeathCare?
In 2050, when Chinese students are studying the fall of the American Empire, they will point to the 0bama regime and ask “What were they thinking?”
Tiny family small biz here. Blue Cross informs premium
to rise 30% this year in March.
A Nemo storm of taxes over the horizon for everyone.
It’s just arriving. Is everybody happy?
I’ve whined about this already, but I will do it again. My deductible went up $80 a month Jan. 1. It will go up another $80 in July for a grand total of $160 more a month. That equals my raise for the year. I am thankful I got a raise but it doesn’t help much when everything else costs more and more.
i was going to say; i’ll take a $400 increase at this point...I’ve seen a $7000 increase the past two years...
I can almost hear the “47%” squealing like the little piggies they are when the whole sham stats to hit home. They really thought it meant “free” healthcare...
You are right about that. It is a shame they will ruin the best medical system in the world. It is also a shame they created this crisis in the first place with ll of the meddling the last nearly 50 years.
There’s no telling how high it’s going to go when the DREAMers and Pathway Amnestistas are added.
Spot on. When gubmint h-care denies treatment to a progressive’s loved one the cry will go up. They will be begging the local gov h-care commissar for a favor,
just like all commie systems. All’s fine till you are
on the wrong side of the needle.
It does not have to be this way, even progressives will be hurt.
Bingo! Fits right in with his "everything he does is anti-American". . whether it's here or abroad.
This works out to a $5/hour pay cut, except you still have to pay full taxes on the $5/hour you used to make. When you go to the doctor’s office expect to wait behind the leisure class lard balls that will be getting free gold-plated healthcare at your expense. Barky said healthcare was being made affordable, he just didn’t say for whom.
The GOP was too stupid to take advantage of information out there and make effective ads and debate points on this. The low information voters will be as surprised by these penalties OR high insurance policy costs come 2014. I hope it isn’t too late for the mid-term elections. Many were surprised by the expiration of the tax holiday for 2% ss/medicare taxes. Come on GOP do your job. I made the mistake of donating again this past election cycle only to be disappointed again. I won’t donate this next cycle until they PROVE they are ready to fight the fight.
The good news is that, for most people, the “penalty tax” for those who choose not to buy health insurance will cost a lot less than health insurance.
As with everything tax-related, there’s no simple answer to “How much is the Obamacare penalty tax?” But here are some key points, from FactCheck.org:
The penalty/tax will be phased in from 2014 to 2016.
The minimum penalty/tax in 2016 will be $695 per person and up to 3-times that per family. After 2016, these amounts will increase at the rate of inflation.
The minimum penalty/tax per person will start at $95 in 2014 (and then increase through 2016)
No family will ever pay more than 3X the per-person penalty, regardless of how many people are in the family.
The $695 per-person penalty is only for those who make between $9,500 and ~$37,000 per year. If you make less than ~$9.500, you’re exempt. If you make more than ~$37,000, your penalty is calculated by the following formula...
The penalty is 2.5% of any household income above the level at which you are required to file a tax return. That level is currently $9,500 per person and $19,000 per couple. The penalty on any income above that is 2.5%. So the penalty can get expensive quickly if you make a lot of money.
However, the penalty can never be more than the cost of a “Bronze” heath insurance plan purchased through one of the state “exchanges” that will be created as part of Obamacare. The CBO estimates that these policies will cost $4,500-$5,000 per person and $12,000-$12,500 per family in 2016, with the costs rising thereafter.
So, basically, you’re looking at penalties of approximately the following at the following income levels:
Less than $9,500 income = $0
$9,500 - $37,000 income = $695
$50,000 income = $1,000
$75,000 income = $1,600
$100,000 income = $2,250
$125,000 income = $2,900
$150,000 income = $3,500
$175,000 income = $4,100
$200,000 income = $4,700
Over $200,000 = The cost of a “bronze” health-insurance plan
the current system is not workable.
get rid of private health insurance,
or get rid of the United States.
pick one.
Our deductible went up also.
Ours coverage isn’t going up up mid-year— we can only make changes once a year— so they had better not raise ours mid-year.
Actually, a great many practicing MDs would like to see single-payer, because they are suffocating under the paperwork and computer record keeping requirements the way things are now, but many of them are adamantly AGAINST Obamacare evolving into single payer. They want a single payer that is developed from scratch by medical people and not politicians.
“If you think healthcare’s expensive now, just wait until it’s free.”
IT IS A TAX. Simple as that. Tax us for health care that we will not get or be able to use. Their death panels will keep older people from living, even though they have to pay for the garbage.
