While scores of law enforcement officers continued to search Friday for a fugitive ex-cop suspected of killing three people, San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said he is worried about armed Big Bear residents -- whom he calls "hearty" --- taking the law into their own hands.

If he’s in the Big Bear area, which I doubt, the locals probably know where he is and where he’s been. If he’s not deemed a threat, he might be OK - if he is deemed a threat, he’ll either show up as a freshly shot body or simply disappear.
I tend to think there is more than 1 involved in the truck burning. Dormer is probably on the East Coast right now.

It will simply embolden the radical left wing extremist demokkkrats to call for more gun control since the guy is a civilian now. Does he have any 30 round high capacity “clips” on him? Does his “assault weapon” have a “bullet button” to help him change “clips” faster so he can “spray” bullets out of his “high power” AR from the hip? A “flash hider” so nobody will see where he’s “spraying” his “armor piercing” ammo from? Maybe a “grenade launcher” to crank up the leathality? Or a “pistol grip” or “bayonet lug”? Maybe a “barrel shroud”? Thankfully he won’t have the added charge of “hate” brought against him. We can only pray that people wake up to what is going on but too many are blinded by the flash and bling of the gimme’ crowd. I deserve it and am entitled to it. obamama stash anyone? No, I think he plans to kill more cops. He knows where they are, who they are, where their families are, and he knows how they are trained to respond. He’ll just keep offing them until he’s caught or killed. Kill as many cops as he can kill, would appear to be his MO.
Conversely, what you have here is a microcosm of what will happen in any mass gun grab, confiscation scenario or police state action. Just look at the spastic response by law enforcement. Shooting innocents without warning or justification beyond having a certain color vehicle. Morons!
Just think if cops ever start to confiscate guns and and arrest those who do not turn them in.

In the days after that, they will start dropping like flies while they mow their lawns, fuel their vehicles, stop at the grocery or drop their kids off to school.
Very few look past the here and now to see likely outcomes of bad decisions, made by poor thinkers, when they seek to trample on free men and their families. A societal collapse will correct this ignorance very quickly.
While this killer has none of my sympathy, he is serving to demonstrate aptly the chaos and mayhem one armed individual can cause against a perceived enemy.

The case where a female officer allegedly tried to change his credit union password was a live-in fellow deputy/common-law wife so it isn’t clear if he was so victimized.
I don’t read much patience of virtue from his manifesto.
It does appear he is searching for justification of his thinking in all the wrong places.
30 years ago, his character wouldn’t have made it through boot camp, let alone officer candidate school or the police academy. I doubt he was SEAL or UDT. Perhaps riverine craft captain, aka John Kerry wantabe.
Kind of brings a thought to mind: Imagine SHTF in this country, the cops are showing they will act irrationally and simply shoot whoever they even remotely suspect might be someone they are after. Street Justice. Imagine SHTF and they just go apesh*t just like this, drunk with power and weapons. It is why We the People must be as well armed as those childish idiots.
