My husband is a large animal veterinarian. I run the washing machine on a looooong extra hot cycle before I put any of my clothes in for washing. The really gross stuff gets washed at the clinic, though.

And he is not allowed to chop up a salad when in the kitchen.

Just for fun, I would like to see the vets on the show doing the same things with washing machines and cleanup problems. They certainly show the grosser moments in their jobs—how ‘bout the cleanup?

My observation of farmers who raise cattle and other animals is that they perform a lot of the vet stuff themselves. Birthing being one of them of course but the farmer whose farm I stayed at on numerous pheasant hunting trips to N.W. Kansas had bottles of drugs in the refrigerator that were designated for his animals.

Probably antibiotics to be used when he sews up cuts and gashes on his cattle or dogs.......I think the nearest town big enough to have a vet was about 55 miles away so that's why they do most of the minor stuff themselves.
