Maybe it’s cheaper than real beef?......
That’s the thing. I think it costs more per lb to produce. That said, I do know that horses around my parts are a lot cheaper than beef. I suppose someone could go to an auction and buy a LOT of horses pretty cheap and then make hamburger out of them. Thing is, though, this would only happen temporarily. The world herd would shrink pretty fast.
But there is a Mustang problem still going on, so who knows.
I thought most horsemeat in the US winds up in dog food.......
