Yeah, I’m thinking he could have had another vehicle. He could have parked his truck there a while ago, and used a timed pyrotechnic device to set the fire to throw the cops off on goose chases.
He certainly has had time to plan his diversions and evasions.
He can acquire another vehicle, just as long as it does not look like mine. I really do not want to get shot driving to work by our vigilant police department.
The timed pyrotechnic is too complicated. To really throw them off all he had to do is take off the tags or swap them with another vehicle and leave the truck in a parking lot. It would be days before it was found by which time he could be hundreds of miles away. But I don’t think he is running. It is more of a cat and mouse game. He wants to kill again and he wants to do it close to LA.
I think he was already long gone before the cops ever got to his truck. He knows how the cops would respond and he could have used this as a diversion to draw resources away from where he is headed. The LAPD better hope he slips up and makes a mistake so they can catch him.
