From www.mrvirtualpresident.com/v-potus:

V-POTUS
Welcome to the home of the Virtual President of the United States (V-POTUS).

The Virtual Presidency is a rhetorical device used to introduce common sense into modern American politics.

During the next few weeks and months, this website will be in a state of constant growth.
We'll continue to add new features, including...a shedule of speaking engagements...

I’m not sure if I am already on the list (I got pinged and FReepmailed), but if not, please add me.

I love this guy.

Yes, you are already ON my Bill Whittle "Virtual President" PING LIST.
There was some initial confusion, as I also pinged some of my OLD iists to this thread.
For the REST of you, you will know if you are on my Bill Whittle "Virtual President" PING LIST if you get pinged to my NEXT post on this thread...
(If you don't get pinged to that post, you are NOT currently on my Bill Whittle "Virtual President" PING LIST.)

From Bill Whittle's Facebook fan page yesterday:
A few quick updates...

First, you may see a few reposts of the V-POTUS segments.
That's because we are running a few ad campaigns
and trying different strategeries.
It won't be too obnoxious, but different headers will give me an idea
of which ads have the best reach.

Second, I'm traveling a LOT for the next few months.
We do have plans to relaunch the Stratosphere Lounge
and do a lot more to promote it,
by releasing it in four-or-five bite-sized segments, one per topic.

I am hoping to do one next week; probably Friday when I return.

Third, we plan to do three segments on the V-SOTU,
as if they were excerpts from an hour-long speech (which will not exist.)

First will be GUNS.

I'll try to release that by Monday night. Yes, tomorrow. [2/11/13]

Slowly starting to get my feet back under me.
I just slept for 36 hours and feel like a new man.

.

.

This is a TEST of my Bill Whittle "Virtual President" PING LIST...

(If you did not get pinged to THIS POST, you are NOT currently on my ping list.)

Sorry for any confusion that may resulted from my "pinging the list" to this OLD thread.

I was testing my current list, in preparation for the NEW thread...

...which will go up whenever Bill posts the first of his V-SOTU videos -- perhaps as soon as tonight!
My intent was to make BW supporters aware of the strategy for his upcoming virtual "State of the Union" videos...
...and the changes that he has planned for his "Stratosphere Lounge" format...
...as well as to make everyone on the list aware of the 100+ additions to this original thread...
...since it was first posted last week.
In the future, I will do my best to be more sensitive to not "over-pinging" this list. ;)

The Virtual Inaugural 2013
by The Elephant's Child

Bill Whittle has a marvelous way of getting right to the heart of things.

His Virtual Inaugural is meant to be dissent. He doesn’t agree with the direction of this administration,
and he presents an alternative Inaugural address to explain the difference.

I’m with Bill Whittle. If all Republicans could speak as clearly as he does, we’d be a lot better off.

Here is a transcript of the speech [corrected] to download.

It’s worth reading over several times and thinking about.

It’s easy to dissent, to disapprove of policies and actions of this government,
but not so easy to spell out what we would do instead.

This is truly food for thought, to be pondered, not just scanned and passed over. Enjoy.

From www.ijreview.com:
BILL WHITTLE'S 'VIRTUAL INAUGURAL':
WASHINGTON NOT ALLOWING PEOPLE TO BE HAPPY

Kyle Becker

Bill Whittle gave his outstanding version of the Inaugural address in which he says that "we’re not happy"
because politicians in Washington D.C. won’t let us be.

The Virtual Inaugural is an outstanding response to the collectivist agenda of both parties,
which is threatening freedom in this country.

SHARE what the Inaugural Address should have sounded like!

Whittle has whittled me down from a cynic to an optimist.. almost..
Not completely though.. how can you make a cat a dog?..

But the “barking” bothers me less... I’m more into “growls”..
GO BILL!!... “Psssst.. growl”... I’ve got yer tail..

Thanks for "bumping" this thread...

From FReeper batter's classic thread:
The 2009 FreeRepublic Lexicon
(Lingo, Dictionary, Lore Handbook) - UPDATE TIME!
Bump - used when someone wants to post a reply to a thread
simply to "bump" it back to the top of the "Latest Posts" list...
...so more visitors will see it.

See also BTTT in the acronyms section.

-- snip --

BTTT - "Bump To The Top" or "Back To The Top" is used interchangeably with "Bump".

-- snip --

Ping - Putting a FReeper's screen name in the "reply to" field...
...so that they will see it in self search.

Also, to "page" them to the thread.

"Bumping" a thread also helps to "feed the Google-bots." ;)

From support.google.com:

Googlebot

Googlebot is Google's web crawling bot (sometimes also called a "spider").

Crawling is the process by which Googlebot discovers new and updated pages
to be added to the Google index.

We use a huge set of computers to fetch (or "crawl") billions of pages on the web. Googlebot uses an algorithmic process:
computer programs determine which sites to crawl, how often, and how many pages to fetch from each site.

Googlebot's crawl process begins with a list of webpage URLs, generated from previous crawl processes
and augmented with Sitemap data provided by webmasters.

As Googlebot visits each of these websites it detects links (SRC and HREF) on each page
and adds them to its list of pages to crawl...

This just in, from Bill Whittle's Facebook fan page:
We heard that tonight's Obama's SOTU speech was going to be "aggressive,"
so we decided to hold the response until we can see
if he plans to scuttle the Navy or ban waffles
or whatever comes next.

I'm traveling to DC until Thursday;
we'll shoot the response Thursday night.

Sorry about the delay.

Check out the NEW thread, about the first installment of Bill Whittle's "Virtual SOTU" speech:
"Virtual President" BILL WHITTLE "Virtual STATE OF THE UNION - 2013"
[part one: talking about GUNS]
From www.mrvirtualpresident.com:
GUNS (Virtual State of the Union - 2013)
February 21, 2013

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_T-F_zfoDqI

In this segment of his Virtual State of the Union,
the Virtual President talks about why politicians want to talk about gun control rather than crime control,
and delivers the factual evidence and historical truths
that make the case for the Second Amendment self-evident...
