When a person amasses too much power, they often believe they are indestructible.
What Karl Rove and company did last week in the New York Times, claiming that their new Conservative Victory Project would cure the ills of a disappointing campaign cycle, is laughable. The so-called Conservative Victory Project is nothing more than an attempt by establishment Republicans to cull the conservative movement. Why does Rove think he has a monopoly on wanting to win?
At least Karl Rove and company are finally out front with their disdain for the conservative movement, and I am thankful for it. The battle lines are finally drawn, and conservatives should look at the New York Times article as our Lexington and Concord. This battle will be a long, hard slog against the establishment. Just this week, a Rove henchman attacked conservative leader Brent Bozell. But we will prevail, because we actually believe in core principles and a cause greater than our egos and money.
Karl Rove and his cabal would sell out on any issue if it means more power in the short-term, for they dont stand for anything. Lets just look at Roves record of accomplishments for Big Government causes. Rove supported the fiscally crippling expansion of Medicare, the anti-free speech McCain-Feingold campaign finance act, and the plan to reward illegal behavior when it comes to immigration reform. Under Roves watch, federal spending was out of control. Rove is no conservative; his decisions are made free of principle, with the deciding factor always being how he and the failing establishment try to cling to power.
America is in trouble. Supporting candidates who are willing to come to Washington to increase our national debt will only hasten our decline.

“Karl Rove and his cabal ...”
Truer words were never spoken.
Turd Blossom attempts fun canoe trip down remote American river.
Hilarity ensues.
Bring it, purty mouth.
It never ended from when the “Taft Wing” of the party used to fight with the liberal GOP, and when the “Rockefeller Republicans” fought with the Goldwater supporters.
Be honest,
What kind of a gub mint would it have been with Romney?
NOt a hell of a lot different.
Dem lite.
WHAT ABOUT MAYBE A CONSERVATIVE FOR A CHANGE.
Sorry for yelling but hey look, Bush, Bush, Dole, McLame, Romney, again how about a real conservative???
Enough RINO crap.!
That entire crew of Beltway pubbies is rotten to the core and has been for decades. This is one battle the Tea Party and their friends had better win.
Over the years when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger mans clothes I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larrys record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the Pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mothers cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name and his incredible resolve and love of this country.) How ironic that he, like General Patton, was also assassinated by the communists they both despised.
Those other candidates ran as Republicans. Because I was a rabid Bircher back then (still am philosophically!), those candidates had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club Pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes.
As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local Pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign professionals ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.
Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these professionals proceeded to TORPEDO our guys campaign in subtle but effective ways.
From that experience I can tell you that the Pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.
If YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2012 and beyond and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they want to send you no-strings cash for your campaign, take it. If, however, they suggest sending in one of their professionals, tell them to fuggetaboutit.
They ARE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!!
“The common and continual mischief of the spirit of Party is
sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to
discourage and restrain it.” G. Washington
>>> Karl Rove and his cabal would sell out on any issue if it means more power in the short-term, for they dont stand for anything.
Amen! And that goes for most representatives in DC too
Its name alone will siphon off lots of money from people who will believe Rove’s new organization is actually conservative.
Dear Karl Rove,
SENATE RACES
Lets do this by the numbers shall we?
Aiken: Kristol was right, Aiken WAS NOT supported by the TP. He was the WEAKEST of the three GOP primary candidates (and got over 1 million in support from McCaskill supporters). Even then, he had a 10 pt lead before his “verbal diarrhea” comment on rape. If he had a little “Breitbart media savvy” he would of avoided the pitfalls and won comfortably against a flailing McCaskill who was just ripe for the picking.
Mourdock: Agreed, he too needed a class in “Breitbart media savvy” but what the pundits don’t tell you was that crybaby Lugar badmouthed Mourdock and told his supporters not to help in the general (sore loser alert).
ND: Berg: Simply saying Im the GOP candidate, vote for me isnt enough against an inspired (and highly organized/motivated DNC candidate). Berg lost by less than 3,000 votes. Bergs campaign was described by local insiders as sloppy, undisciplined, and reeking of GOPe (aka: taking the base for granted). This race was begging for an upset and the DNC brought in the big guns/money to pull it off. Heitkamp struck with perfect timing to squeeze out a few extra votes in the end to win.
ME: GOP in disarray and against a popular former governor.
MA: Brown flipped the bird to the TP, went all RINO and was up against a powerful candidate. Burned bridges. GOPe
VA: George Allen, three time loser, mr. ma-ca-ca, uninspired campaigner, slow, methodical, dull. GOPe.
FL: Connie Mack, three-time-loser, uninspired race. GOPe. lost in space
OH: Josh Mandel. Deer in the headlights against the hunter. In the big leagues Josh, they play for keeps NOT for Chuck-E-Cheese tokens. OUT OF HIS LEAGUE.
MT: Three way race and the Libertarian candidate spoils the show Tester 236,123-Rehberg 218,051-Cox 31,892. DNC plowed a lot of money for their favorite goon Tester. GOPe Loser who left the TP ranks and joined the establishment.
WI: Tommy Thomson. Uninspired campaign. Thought that by simply announcing he would win by default. Believed his past terms as governor was all the PR he ever needed. Burned a lot of bridges in the primary. GOPe
HI: Lingle......Liberal RINO, LOST
CT: McMahon....Liberal RINO, LOST
NM: Wilson....RINO, LOST.....zzzzzzzzz
DE: Wade....RINO, Boring, Loser, RINO......this guy made COD look good.
MI: Hoekstra....RINO, Boring, Loser, GOPe
CA: Emken...WHO??? WHO??? Cannon fodder.
WV: Raese...hey WV, how’s it feeling know that Manchin is stabbing you in the back? Remember, the first cut is always the deepest. Raese????? Don’t bring a pig-sticker to a gun fight and last time I saw Manchin he was armed to the teeth.
RI: Hinckley? Welcome to hell Hinckley where Republicans are a rare species....and you’re next the menu.
NJ: Kyrillos. Good point, friend of Gov. Crispy Creme (aka: one trick pony). Bad point, friend of Crispy Creme. I was hoping for a fight, perhaps a few haymakers and kicks, but all I got was whimpering and bitch-slapped cries of angst. EPIC FAIL.
VT: Vermont is not a state but an extension of the Bermuda Triangle. My advice to the GOP, wall off the state and let Thunderdome commence!!!
WA: Baumgartner.....BORING!!! He was the poster boy for “phoning it in”.
MN: Bills. C’mon, “Weekend at Bernies” had a better shot. Bills is like the Buffalo Bills....maybe next year but next year never comes.
PA: Smith. This Mr. Smith won’t be going to Washington. Out of all the RINO flame outs, he made it closest but hey close only counts for horseshoes and grenades. KABOOM!!! His problem....he believed his press clippings and took that “magical surge” for granted. If he wanted a “surge” get some Viagra, it’s cheaper and more discrete.
NY: Wendy Long. Anyone? Anyone? Good person, but the GOP in this state has more important problems like who gets the first tee time or reservation at Spagos. Sacrificial lamb to the lions. And to make matters worse, Gillibrand is an airhead that makes Donna Summers look good.
MD: Bongino. Another good man who lives in Maryland known by archeologists as “Land of the Lost”. If there was a state worthy of sinking into the 9th circle of hell this is it. Unfortunately, Bongino was the last saint left behind.
NE Deb Fischer, CONSERVATIVE....Endorsed by Palin and a great ground game. Defeated the GOPe back candidate in the primary. WINNER
AZ Jeff Flake, CONSERVATIVE....Endorsed by Palin and a great ground game. Did not run away from conservatism. WINNER
TX Ted Cruz, CONSERVATIVE....Endorsed by Palin and a great ground game. Defeated the GOPe candidate in the primary. WINNER
The Senate was ripe for the picking for the GOP. If the candidates played it smart, practiced Media 101 skills (may I suggest the Breitbart school of journalism) and just learned to avoid the traps (Akin, Mourdock), we could of picked up 4-7 seats.
I dont know if 2014 will get us to 50+ and it might take a few cycles to get the Senate back....but only if the GOP learns its lessons and stops pointing its fingers at the base. Future conservative/TP candidates will have to realize that its a BLOOD SPORT. Mistakes that might of been survivable in the bush-leagues are game killers in the big leagues.
Its not just about politics for Rove, ITS ABOUT THE MONNEY. His little scam on advising candidates and ad buys gives him a nice commission.
Its a nice little racket which would make Al Capone envious.
Down with the Vichy Republicans
Clearing the way for the next Bush...
Enjoyed your post.
Being in Indiana, I just can’t understand how a guy running for US Senate is not able to anticipate the type of questions he will get from journ-0-lists.
This isn’t rocket science.
Even amateurs like myself who get a few hours of Limbaugh a week realize that journ-0-list Stephanopolos telegraphed the “war on women” meme in the first R debate.
Contested primaries should not be a civil war. I will vote in the primary for the most conservative electable candidate. I will vote in the general for the more conservative candidate, who in my experience has always been the pubbie. I oppose fratricide.
Karl Rove is personally responsible for the crushing defeats of Republicans and especially Conservatives for the last 6 years.
It’s ROVE’s FAULT.
CRUSH ROVE!
I wonder if Hannity has the balls to put Rove on with Mark Levin.
Rove is nothing more than a George Soros plant....he is trying to kill the GOP
The Tea Party response should be easy.
“To all Republican candidates. Distance yourself from or disavow Rove and his organization, or you get *nothing* from the Tea Party. His small band of billionaires might offer you money, but they cannot promise you grassroots support or votes.
“The ‘country club’, RINO Republicans are a thing of the past. They have the same philosophy as liberal Democrats, but they find liberal Democrats repulsive as people. Yet they will always support liberal Democrat politicians before they will support conservative Republicans.”
Romney wasn't electable. He is a liberal.
Any liberal or 'moderate' that the GOP puts up is going to be unelectable. Take that to the bank.
/johnny
Either way NO conservative should have anything to do with this stupid rino CONTROLLED/GOPe republican party right now!!
To borrow a line from Lord of the Rings, war is upon us whether we would wish it or not. If there are people running on the Republican ticket who will do all they can to undermine conservatism, those people must be recognized as enemies and defeated. RINOs have a unique ability to give conservatives 0% of the power and 100% of the blame; Democrats may be able to take power, but they can't shift the blame to conservatives without RINOs' help.
