My cousin and his friends went to Mexico for spring break. Jailed the first night and bailed and bailed the next day. Bail was every penny they had on them, which was a lot. Went home the next day.
You have to be crazy to take your chances in Mexico if you are an obvious Gringo. If you look very indian Hispanic and speak fluently, you are probably mostly left alone. If you are a lily white english speaker, good luck with that.
