...to end prohibition
That says it all right there. Prohibition was such a bad ammendment that it was repealed. I have not touched pot since 1977 and don’t think people should use it other than for medicinal purposes, but I also think it’s none of the government’s business to make it illegal.
I agree that is none of the Governments business, but for a different reason, If GOD created it, what business does Government have making anything GOD created Illegal??
Nah. This would be a move in the right direction.
If Earl “The Squirrel” Blumenauer is pushing this, it is likely a bad idea.
I’ve never used it but if it’s legalized I’d probably start. Why not? Might as well move back in with my parents and give up. This country isn’t worth a damn if it goes down this road anyway.
Let the states decide.
If the repubs were smart they’d do end end run around the dems by declaring the war on drugs is a massive failure , waste of money and resources and needs a whole new approach. Be the party of yes for once
But legalizing the lethal, more-addictive drug alcohol still left this country worth a damn? How's that add up?
Starting in the 60’s things have gotten ‘progressively’ worse and I’d put a lot of it on weed and psychedelics. At this point I’d say it’s barely worth a damn. Booze has been around through the ups and downs and doesn’t change someone’s personality in the same way.
"Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell last week came out in support of efforts to legalize hemp in his home state of Kentucky, and U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., is expected to introduce legislation allowing states to set their own policy on marijuana."
Good news!
This stuff almost always comes from the hard left. Two democrats, heroes of the liberaltarians here on FR. They know it’ll make people lazy and dull and need more democrat welfare.
In politics you play to win, and part of that is NEVER admitting you were wrong about anything. If they want to call for 'an open dialogue' or say that the issue needs to be examined again or some other happy-talk, fine. But don't admit you were wrong.
Have you been around many drunks?
You're right - it's likelier to turn the user violent.
Yep, you love democrat plans to expand the ATF. Figures.. Just so you can get high you’d sell your soul to satan it looks.
Actually, that is my reason, in a nutshell. The purpose of government is to protect us from each other, either from within or without our borders. And once they control a substance because it can cause SOME people to act in ways that harm others, they have set a dangerous precident. That thinking gives them the right to control everything we do.
Everything.
Its coming those two clowns, and you think its a good idea? Think again. Anything coming from the left is to be opposed 100%. Period.
Been around both. The pot users are more worthless in general. Drunks are bad enough, but adding legions of potheads to the mix is worse.
Alcohol is by far the most Dangerous and damaging DRUG in the History of the World, there is simply no comparison to any of the so-called “controlled substances”. Out of all the Mood altering substances ever unleashed onto mankind ALCOHOL is the ONLY ONE THAT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. And yes I am speaking from Personal Experience.
