Amid the parties and fun of Super Bowl 2013, authorities say, there is a dark underworld of girls and women being forced into the sex trade. Sitting in the festive lobby of a New Orleans hotel, festooned with San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens decorations, Clemmie Greenlee, a former victim of sex trafficking from Nashville, recalled being brought to cities around the South to prostitute for those attending such large-scale events.
For Greenlee's pimps, the influx of people provided a massive money-making opportunity.
"When they come to these kinds of events, the first thing you're told is how many you're gonna perform a day," she said Friday. "You've got to go through 25 men a day, or you're going through 50 of them. When they give you that number, you better make that number."

As long as there is demand there is supply.

Well then. Let’s cancel the Superbowl. Everything has negativity as part of it. Sorry the woman have to go through this but what about Marti Gras? When will we hear the sad sobbing story of that? What about any particular weekend in New Orleans? Stop trying to diss the greatest American Sport. They do this with everything that is good about America. More trying to destroy the American life.
“Stop trying to diss the greatest American sport”.
APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE! Absolutely agree 100%, naps. Seems like anything negative they can associate with football right now is fair game. No mention of the Olympics or World Cup. No mention of prostitution at Nascar races. How about Spring Break in Florida... this article is so transparent with its true purpose.
I don’t think Spring Break in Florida counts.
The amateurs there giving it away put the prostitutes to shame.
Lots of freebies in New Orleans at Mardis Gras too from what I have seen.
“Lots of freebies in New Orleans”
Years ago, my then 90 year old Uncle and his wife went to Mardi Gras. Uncle George was always the “wilder” uncle. He came back with about 200 of those bead necklaces. I’m not going to write out how we teased him.. but we did. I think he got the whole concept backwards... and flashed his 90 year old chest to anyone. We joked that people threw beads at him to make him go away. LOL!
Depressing. Here’s a novel solution. Johns? Public flogging and stocks. Women would have first dibs on whipping them. Pimps? Kill ‘em. Yeah, severe, but I bet others would think twice about it.
Perhaps Bob Menendez can look into it.
Obviously you missed the point of the article. It was about the horror and depravity of sex trafficking. The Super Bowl was incidental and used as a method of drawing attention to the problem.
Nobody cares. Next.
“Abducted and gang raped at age 12...”
A lot of people should care.
27 million in slavery today, 18,000 trafficked into the USA every year almost all for the sex trade.
Nothing is incidental in the media; once a strawman is constructed, they'll pile on with ferocity. The NFL is latest victim.
You are never going to stop contenting adults but this is white slavery. The men that force this upon girls against their will should be killed - immediately.
Wonder how manywhores were at the Inauguration?
Oh wait, too many there willing to give it away for an honest whore to make a living.....
I was under the impression the NOW crowd changed it’s tune and fully supports these “sex workers” against the blue-noses and moralists on the right who would curtail their economic freedom?
As long as the Super Bowl is the most watched event. You will feed this beast. And as always this is Bread and Circus. Bread and Circus is just a tool of the government.
Oh Lord. A bleeding Heart Liberal on Free Republic no less. There is always one in the crowd.
You are so full of s*** that your eyeballs are brown. I will match my service in the Marine Corps and my conservative credentials against yours any day. Obviously I hit a nerve and you must have no problem with sex trafficking. You can go back to your hookers and blow now.
