LOVELAND, Colo. A 2nd grader has been suspended from school in Loveland for a make believe game he was playing.
The 7-year-old says he was trying to save the world. But school administrators say he broke a key rule during his pretend play.
I was trying to save people and I just cant believe I got dispended, says Alex Evans, who doesnt understand his suspension any better than he can pronounce it.
Its called rescue the world, he says.
He was playing a game during recess at Lovelands Mary Blair Elementary School and threw an imaginary grenade into a box with pretend evil forces inside.
I pretended the box, theres something shaking in it, and I go pshhh.
The boy didnt throw anything real or make any threats against anyone. He explains he was pretending to be the hero. So nothing can get out and destroy the world.
But his imaginary play broke the schools real rules. The school lists absolutes designed to keep a safe environment. The list includes absolutely no fighting, real or imaginary; no weapons, real or imaginary.
Honestly I dont think the rule is very realistic for kids this age, says Alexs mom Mandie Watkins.
Alex is like a lot of 2nd graders, perpetual motion. His mom says the little boy doesnt understand why pretending to be a soldier was wrong. I think that when a child is trying to save the world, I dont think he should be punished for it.
At least one other parent FOX31 Denver talked to agrees with her.
Thats just a boy growing up, says Elliott Orozco. Thats what I did and I didnt become a bad guy.
Nevertheless, Alex will be playing at home rather than in the school yard because his mom says hell stay home until this can be worked out.
Lord, what would’ve happened to our generation under these NEA harpies? Everybody in my neighborhood had 2-3 or more cap guns, rifles or plastic machine guns. My dad had just retired from the Marine Corps, so I had all his gear and my mom made me some khaki uniforms from his cast-offs, with a little overseas cap and a play 1903 Springfield.
Poor little boy from the story. He doesn’t understand what he did “wrong”. These people that come up with this stuff are completely ridiculous and they should be made to feel like what utter fools they are.
the wussification of america continues....
at this rate, the portuguese army will be able to invade and take us over....maybe the lesbians can hold em off
Let me get this straight:
They have a rule against 7 year old boys imagining.
OK Got it.
AND WE LET THESE DUMB ASSES TEACH OUR CHILDREN?????
Now we know what that little boy must have done, I mean the poor kid waiting in the principal's office when Uncle Buck walked in.
Where is Uncle Buck when you need him. :(

Well, you know, it's on them. Don't they know it? They must. Just like all the "good germans" knew it.
As a young boy we had ‘rubber guns’, pistols and rifles, using bands cut from inner tubes. Some were even multi shot. We also had weed spears when we were the Indians. Sometimes we even used ‘sling’ shooters to play cops and robbers. When we were a bit older we even went to real war and fought Japs and Nazis. Things were tough in those days but we had a very good USA.
simply to be part of the display, his teacher gave him an "A" and everyone loved his project.
So what state was this? Texamaximus ?
They’re following orders...ridiculously stupid orders, but orders none the less. No risk, no matter how remote, can be tolerated. There’s no longer such a thing as acceptable risk. All must be controlled.
There’s a sickness in America. Our culture is diseased, and I think it’s spiritual in nature. I don’t know what else to say about it or how to solve it, but I see it all around me.
Don’t cha know, today boys should be playing hop scotch and jacks, yoga and dance....and the girls should be learning jujitsu, karate, kick boxing, power weight lifting, and the economics of how to spend your ex’s hard earned money.
Parents who love their children need to keep them far, far away from the government schools.
Like, yesterday.
my son made a catapult for his science project
School is now designed to turn little boys into little girls.
Little boys are being taught to suppress their healthy and natural aggression or face being treated as ‘bad.’
AGGRESSION IS ALWAYS WRONG.
USING STRENGTH TO WIN IS NEVER RIGHT.
That’s the lesson being taught.
Be like a little girl; Hold hands. Hug. Talk it out.
Or you will be cast out.
