California governor weighs parole for Charles Manson follower

California Gov. Jerry Brown is considering whether to grant parole to a convicted murderer who followed notorious killer Charles Manson, a spokeswoman for the governor said.
Brown's office received a formal recommendation from the state board parole Friday to release Bruce Davis, 70, who would be the first Manson "family" member to secure freedom solely for good behavior.
Brown has 30 days -- or until March 3 -- to either modify, affirm or reverse the parole board's recommendation, a corrections spokeswoman said.
In 2010, Davis secured his first formal recommendation for parole by the state board, but then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reversed the board's decision.

I find it interesting that while we are considering how to punish law abiding citizens we are trying to decide if we should release a known murdered back into society. I say let him and his boss rot there.

Why not? The current occupant of the White House is doing all he can to see that Manson's dreams of race and class wars, and the destruction of the USA come true.

exactly, I will support parol when one of his victims gets out of the ground and requests it for him.LOL! Reminds me of a line by a comedian I heard many years ago... "Sirhan Sirhan says he should be elligible for parole, and if Bobby Kennedy were alive, he would say so. Isn't that just the luck? The one guy who would vouch for him, and he murdered him!"

If there was such a thing as justice, the man would have been executed decades ago and there would be no discussion of parole.
As someone sagely pointed out, the last place you will find justice is in a court.
3 to 1 says moonbeam cuts him loose. Remember, the victims are dead, Their opinions don’t count.

If the redeeming criterion is simply good behavior, then Leslie Van Houten deserves release. Susan Atkins even set up a fund a donated money to the families of the Tate-Labianca murders. Either keep the ole boy or release Van Houten as well.

I agree. Those of us who where of age at the time of the Manson murders remember the horror of it all (I was 19). This murderer’s vitims are still dead, they will never be given a reprieve from the grave.
