The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun. On one side is the Tea Party. On the other side stands Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism.
Yesterday, the New York Times reported that the biggest donors in the Republican Party have joined forces with Karl Rove and Steven J. Law, president of American Crossroads, to create the Conservative Victory Project. The Times reports that this new group will dedicate itself to recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the partys effort to win control of the Senate. The group points to candidates like Christine ODonnell in Delaware and Richard Mourdock in Indiana as examples of Tea Party primary picks going sideways in major Senatorial battles.

There's a large percentage that just want "their" check.
wait a second... you mean a federal employee type is against those that wish to limit the money (power) flowing into the federal govt, thereby reducing his own power?
go figure
Well, I can understand O’Reilly having him on. O’Reilly wants to be ‘objective’, however Hannity is undeniably a ‘conservative’ opinion host, so why the hell does he have Karl Rove representing the conservative side? Rove is not a conservative, so any media that claims to be for conservatives should not present his opinions as valid conservative ideas.
In 2014, a decision for the country will be made. Will the Republican Party, having lost two consecutive elections to the most far left president in history, shift left and continue to lose support for its DemLite platform, or will Rove’s ilk be pushed into obscurity by real conservatives who will remove Rats from red states, and unseat RINOs in congress.
I hope for the same anger at Obama that allowed for our victory in 2010 to now be directed at Rove and the moderates. Sweep them out.
Rove is in it for the MONEY (millions he stole)
and to help the RomneyAGENDA, which includes
ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE.
The bastard has used dirty tricks against conservatives,
especially women (his and Romney’s specialty) and
has installed Obama and the DNC twice.
I could not begin to care less about sean hannity if someone were to offer to pay me.
What Republican Party? The one that committed slow suicide beginning with Hoover?
Oh, that Republican Party ... never mind.
Rove and Reed have been running together for a long time along with Grover Norquist, all leaders in the ‘young republican’ movement together. It’s such a tangled mess. I’ve spent years trying to sort it out, but the one thing you always see is Rove, Reed, Norquist and often Gingrich supporting the same stuff and being in the same places. The fourth one of that cabal, Jack Abramoff, went to jail. The others should be there.

The Fast Rise and Steep Fall of Jack Abramoff
How a Well-Connected Lobbyist Became the Center of a Far-Reaching Corruption Scandal
By Susan Schmidt and James V. Grimaldi

A quarter of a century ago, Abramoff and anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist were fellow Young Turks of the Reagan revolution. They organized Massachusetts college campuses in the 1980 election — Abramoff while he was an undergraduate at Brandeis and Norquist at Harvard Business School — to help Ronald Reagan pull an upset in the state.
They moved to Washington, maneuvered to take over the College Republicans — at the time a sleepy establishment organization — and transformed it into a right-wing activist group. They were joined by Ralph Reed, an ambitious Georgian whose later Christian conversion would fuel his rise to national political prominence.
For those acting outraged at this news, I have ZERO sympathy. We called Rove out during Dubya’s big government reign of error but only got attacks in return. Shame it took a “D” President (who he and Bush are responsible for) for you to remove the blinders.
A thirty pieces of silver type guy? IIRC the Southern Baptist Convention is the largest Protestant denomination in the U.S. What did Reed think of them during Romney's run? They weren't needed. Which is true in a sense, because Obama wasn't going to win the South anyway, but...
Atlanta Journal Constituion August 30, 2012
Not that Southern Baptists have changed their mind, Reed said. But politically, they dont matter as much:
Remember, if youve got a grandma sitting in the third row of an independent Baptist , white sideboard church who cant bring herself to vote for a Mormon because she believes its a heresy, shes more than likely in north Georgia, upstate South Carolina or eastern Tennessee.
And we dont need her. But when you talk about the suburbs of Orlando, or the exurbs of Cincinnati, thats not their deal. Its not an issue.
Wall Street Journal August 30, 2012
Ralph Reed, founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, acknowledged that some evangelical voters may shun Mr. Romney because of his faith, but said most of them reside in heavily Republican states, such as Arkansas, Oklahoma and South Carolina.
"We don't need 'em," he said.
How do you have a viable Coalition without the largest Protestant denomination on board?
Disclaimer: We withdrew our letter of faith from the SBC almost two years ago. Cultural Marxism isn't faith.
Rove won’t be seen praising God on TV, or defending Life or marriage as defined by God, or even seriously defending the constitution or our God-given Liberty. Has no grasp on the founding concept that we are all created equal by our Creator and endowed by HIM with certain unalienable rights, including the rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Rove has no understanding that we the people are the sovereigns and that government derives its just powers at our consent. And that it is our heritage, right and duty to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity!!
Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation from extinction.
Well, Mr. power broker Rove, freedom will not be extinguished on our watch!!
DON’T TREAD ON ME!!
Precisely. Rove is a master at manipulating politics. He doesn't believe in anything except his own ego and politically expedient blatherings. He was dead wrong on the last two elections, dead wrong. Predicting a landslide for Romey, and a sure victory for McCain days before their election crashes. As you correctly point out, Rove has no principles AND, worse, he apparently has no values.
Does he believe in Life? Gee, that's not on his list of priorities.
Does he believe in the 2nd Amendment? Gee, he doesn't think it is important to have as a position.
Does he believe in a smaller government that is accountable to the people? Never heard him respond to that issue, only his advice to #43 that drove us into huge and unsustainable debt.
How about gay marriage and the rest of the gay agenda? Oops, wrong question I guess. He hasn't addressed his opinion on that either or doesn't think it should be raised the public forum.
Yes, I fully agree, Rove can GTH.
“There were some of us who left out the magnificent and were castigated.”
Ouch! I’ll bet that left a mark.
I got an Old Timer with a spey blade:
Let’s start castigatin’ the bastards!
There are about three or four levels of deceit and concealment in such a claim, but it happens to describe Rove’s politics since about 1996 ... since 43 was governor of Texas and throughout his term of office, Dubya was overwhelmingly kind and solicitous toward homosexuals and the homolobby. The only issue he broke with them on, was the DOMA dispute, when the Manor Bush walked away from them. In 2004, moreover, Rove used down-ballot “defense of marriage” referenda to turn out conservative voters to defeat the abominable Kerry.
The rest of the time, it's been wine and roses. This needs an explanation, since homosexuals are one of the core constituencies of the Democrat Party since the 1980’s.
Queers are heavily represented in areas of American life that make them much more powerful than their small numbers would indicate. Besides ‘entertainment’ where they have been able to be out of the closet for a long time, other areas of heavy queer infiltration by at least semi-closeted homos are youth athletics, female sports, and most powerfully but least recognized, politics. One reason DC is such a sewer is the heavy presence of covert queers. The political culture is sort of like interior decorating as a career without having any talent. Lots of smoozing, lots of parties, and lots of posturing. All things gay types love to do. Rove looks like a good possibility as part of the hidden homintern. Another character worth looking at is Mr. Schmitz. There was a lot more than just a so-called pro’s disdain for an amateur in his over the top vitriol and undisguised hatred of Sarah Palin. For a queer that can't jump out of the closet just yet nothing is more hate inducing than a woman with strong evangelical values. I saw this years ago with the almost incoherent hatred of Anita Bryant that a sad sack USAF officer in our section articulated when Ms. Bryant was a leading light of the anti-queer cultural influence campaign. A few months later after this fellow botched a suicide attempt his ‘sexual preferences’ became known. Whenever i see one of this polished beltway pimps mincing about trash talking the GOP base I remember that dreary fellow and his vile rageful comments on Ms. Bryant.

After watching Rove and Trippi in the leadup to the election, I say who the hell would want to listen to that man? He either knows nothing and just blathers about as people pay him for his punditry, or he’s in league with the devil like the rest of them.
What good are grass roots conservatives if they lose?
Haven't listened to SH for years....Is charley rangel still one of "his friend"s ?

Time to take Rove out.
As a tea party organizer, I thank Karl Rove for pointing out which candidates he supports, so I know who to be careful of defeating.
This is the guy who guided Bush into absolute silence while the left tore George from limb from limb taking us to Obama. This is the loser GOP mentality who took us to Romney as a candidate.
I know he’s gay but I don’t think sacrificing the country to socialism, for the sake of Karl’s butt pride, is a good idea.
