Texas Gov. Rick Perry said emphatically Saturday that the Boy Scouts of America shouldn’t soften its strict no-gays membership policy, and dismissed the idea of bending the organization to the whims of “popular culture.”

Sigh. What could have been. I realize he had his flaws and the pain of the then-recent back surgery kept Governor Rick Perry from his normal ability to articulate well, but imagine a man of such Conservatism (and unapologetic Christianity) serving as the Commander in Chief.

Gov. Goodhair has gotten more conservative as the years go by.
