WASHINGTON (AP) - Most candy, high-calorie drinks and greasy meals could soon be on a food blacklist in the nation's schools.
For the first time, the government is proposing broad new standards to make sure all foods sold in schools are more healthful.
Under the new rules the Agriculture Department proposed Friday, foods like fatty chips, snack cakes, nachos and mozzarella sticks would be taken out of lunch lines and vending machines. In their place would be foods like baked chips, trail mix, diet sodas, lower-calorie sports drinks and low-fat hamburgers.

Her Royal and Jiggly Lardass is probably involved with this. Old thunder thighs and porkypolous is continuing to tell us that our kids are fat . . . too bad they dont have wide-enough mirrors in our White House to reflect her own back porch.
Incredible that they somehow found federal reasons to toy with school food.
When you take fat out of foods it tastes like cardboard. Natural fats are not problem - it is the sugar that is substituted, IMHO.
I think TV and video games are more of a problem. When I was a kid we were outside a LOT. We worked off calories.

Make the students run around the school a few times. Throw in some obstacles. Give lectures on prepping.

List of ingredients in Lay’s Baked Potato Chips: dried potatoes, corn starch, sugar, corn oil, salt, soy lecithin, and corn sugar.
I know which ones I’d want MY kids to eat.

We usually stayed right out front but a bunch of us played tag or badmitten in the street. We went to the local park in a group of 4 or more.
They think parents don’t read labels.
Yup, that’s what they think all right. And that list of ingredients is just for the PLAIN baked potato chips. You should see the ones for the flavored kind — it’s a chemistry set, not a potato chip!
Regards,
This isn’t about health, it’s about control and just how far they can push parents. Remember “It’s for the children”? Hillary’s big thing. Hitlers too.
Indeed. And most of my acquaintances laughed at me when I predicted this very thing about 25 years ago.
I’d be laughing at THEM now, but it’s really not funny at all.
Regards,
Have any of them come to the realization that you were right?
What a great opportunity for some young entrepreneur to set up a black market distribution channel.
He will be banking the cash.
The schools confiscate contraband food. Including lunches from home.
