Former Sen. Scott Brown said Friday he would not run in a special Senate election in Massachusetts, dealing a setback to Republican hopes of winning the seat being vacated by Secretary of State John Kerry.
Brown, who electrified his party with an upset win in a 2010 special election but lost his re-election bid in November, ended weeks of intense speculation about his future with a written statement announcing his decision.
GOP officials in Washington and Massachusetts widely considered Brown the strongest possible Republican candidate in a state that traditionally favors Democrats.
With Brown out of the running, potential Republican candidates include former Gov. William Weld, former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey, state Rep. Daniel Winslow and former state Sen. Richard Tisei.

fat chance, you will never elect one, if Warren could win this seat, it tells you how far that state is gone and irretrievable. The only thing you will get in Mass is a moderate republican, anything more is pie in the sky unless 50% of the liberals in mass get wiped out in a tidal wave from the atlantic. Stump up as many hard conservatives as you like to make yourself feel better but you’ll never get one elected there.
Dan Winslow is a RINO.
Oh Thank God! The Liberal decided not to run. Now let’s get a conservative. I am so sick of the Republicans always settling for a RINO. After 2008 and 2012, you would think that liberal Republicans would become endangered species. I am glad that you voluntarily kicked yourself to the curb you liberal piece of crap Brown.
If Scott Brown won the seat it would still not be a Republican seat.
Fine with me. He was a major disappointment.

Everyone forgets that if Brown ran, and won, he would have had to run again for the seat in 2014. I think he was originally gonna go for it..the polls showed him with a big lead over Markey, but I suspect the idea of FOUR races in four years was just to much to take..
Here comes another Kennedy.
BS. You may have seen her; but no one I know including me ever saw anything of her until he was actually elected. The only pictures shown were of him and his daughters.
Until he was actually elected, I never heard one word about the wife; only his two daughters. I kept wondering what happened to her. Like were they divorced or did she die? Who needs low life scum like them. What is sad they are teaching their children this is acceptable.
One day after announcing on his radio show that he is "truly considering" running in 2014 for the U.S. Senate seat now held by New Jersey's Frank Lautenberg, Rivera amped up his message today in a television interview and a column on the Fox News Latino website. [Geraldo Rivera declares himself a 'moderate Republican' as he eyes U.S. Senate run]Thanks Olog-hai. Apropos of nothing, I have to get some Prevacid, I've run out.
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said. [Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance]
Well said.

That rumor sounds like the real story. That’s a race he can win, and his victory will be nice, because I love to see the Regular Faux whining their way through threads like these. Some people seem to forget that (as Tip O’Neill said) “all politics is local” (only a slight exaggeration) and that we don’t elect limited-term dictators — and that’s as the framers intended.
Gee . . . maybe Romney will run?
Guess I don’t know much about Scott Brown and family, except some were super happy out here in CA when he won. . .
Who considers them low life scum?? I’m truly in the dark. . .
What is acceptable they’re teaching their children (2 adult daughters. . )??
Oh please. How did we get from MA to CA? You know they played games and lied. That is low life scum.
Quit baiting me.
