I know MSNBC does not have the largest audience but this same messaging will stretch across other networks, Internet reporting and other media. I just do not see how we succeed in this environment. The conservative movement is going to have to get very smart and very creative to overcome the media situation

I caught part of the Hagel hearing on CSPAN last night with McCain questioning him. Much of the time Hagel wouldn’t have known his own name, if asked. He forgot which side the US was on regarding Iran and regarding Israel.

Some talkshow host (Levin or Limbaugh) mentioned a couple of days ago that McCain and Hagel were BFFs in their early Senate careers. But, apparently, when Hagel endorsed Obama over McCain in 2008, the lovefest ended.

McCain was lobbing volleys non-stop at Hagel and Hagel’s responses were very lacking. Hagel seemed very unprepared, considering the responsibility of the post he is being considered for.

“The conservative movement is going to have to get very smart and very creative to overcome the media situation.”

Start a weekly broadsheet in your town. Find a web press printer who will pound out a 12-page publication for $150 per thousand.

Hire little old ladies to attend local village meetings and write up stories about the local American Legion, school plays and flower shows. They’ll do that for $50 a month and love it.

Take away business advertisers from the local liberal rags to fund the operation.

As publisher, you’ll bring in $500 to $1,000 monthly profit.

I listened to NPR coverage this morning. For NPR, the Cruz questioning never happened. ;-)

They really are pitiful. And funny.

Yup. That's how the left uses Joey Scab and turncoats like him. When the Democrats are having a rough go of it, they turn to media whores like Scarborough to get the "fair conservative" point of view. Of course he sides with the liberals and it is then reported that even reasonable Republicans like Scarborough think the GOP was out of bounds.

I just do not see how we succeed in this environment.

I don't know at this point. The left so dominates the education, media and entertainment establishments that conservatives/Republicans are always stuck swimming against the tide. It's even worse now, the left has managed to turn even the words "Republican" and "conservative" into derogatory terms. Even people that agree with us often wish to avoid being tagged with either label. During the previous election I had occasion to talk to many young people that seemed to be reasonable, traditional type people and they didn't even feel like Republican was an option.

If the media likes our guy or gives him (her) any recognition, then he’s the wrong guy.

That Scarborough won’t look at him tells us he’s irritating something in them.

WHy would we want it any other way?

DId you see the video.

Check it and the one from the day before on gun control.

"The conservative movement is going to have to get very smart and very creative to overcome the media situation"

You do not need to be very smart to figure ridicule is a potent weapon to counter other ridicule. The key is putting your opponent in a defensive posture.

Since rabid collectivist can't stand facts, they resort to belittling the opponent. To get the argument back on tract, you *dominate* (Take no quarter and be violently bombastic) your opponent using the same tactics, but with subtle facts thrown in the mix.

"Scarborough and the rest of the Democrat groupies at MSNBC have a perpetual case of butthurt because their totalitarian heroes, who they wish to live through and control human behavior hence the butthurt, keep tripping over their own hypocrisies during these hearings."
