Ed Koch, the brash, colorful and often confrontational mayor who helped to lead New York City out of its brush with bankruptcy in the 1970s, launching an astonishing municipal turnaround that continues to this day, has died. He was 88.

Yes, and he was very pro-Israel, and supported our War on Terrorism. RIP Mayor Koch...
“If you agree with me on 9 out of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, see a psychiatrist.”
RIP, Mr. Koch.
I think you got it, not bad for a lib. Frankly, he is better than most of the RINOs we believe are on our side. I sure wish he were back rather then Dumkoffberg.
RIP.

Yes - I remember watching him on there. I looked to see if there was a clip of his era as the Judge and found this:

A liberal with sanity, indeed. Didn’t agree with him on everything, particularly gun control, but he said what he meant and meant what he said, eloquently and to the point at that. Gotta respect that. Given his love of NYC, it’s an interesting coincidence he passed away on the same day of the 100th anniversary of the opening of Grand Central Station.

Libs tearing him apart as a racist for lowering crime.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1943 where he served as an infantryman with the 104th Infantry Division, landing in Cherbourg, France in September 1944. He earned two Battle Stars as a combat infantryman. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1946.
RIP Mr. Mayor. Another of the greatest generation has met the final Roll Call.
His politics were almost identical to those of Joe Lieberman. He’d talk about his undying support for Israel but when push came to shove, he was as reliable a Democrat vote as Ted Kennedy. Koch knew that the Dems under Obama were sowing the seeds of Israel’s destruction through the arming of Israel’s enemies and the pressure on Israel to abandon it’s hard fought borders, but he still backed Obama.
Second best of the 10 NYC mayors I lived under.
RIP
I really liked Mr Koch he was not afraid to speak his mind..He loved his city and his country..God Bless and keep you sir...
RIP!!
Rest in peace Mr. Koch.
“Take a good look at a REAL Mayor, one who actually showed RESPECT towards the people.”
Amen to that. The only thing most politicians (D/R) show respect to is the reelection cash coming in the back door, and the people but ONLY on election day.
