Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) confronted former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel with a clip from his 2009 interview with Al Jazeera during today's Defense Secretary confirmation hearing.
The Secretary of Defense nominee can be heard agreeing with a caller's assertion that the United States is the "world's bully."

What happened to Hagel, he used to be a solid conservative?

Let’s not forget Sarah Palin got this guy elected. Cruz was at 30% when Palin came to Texas. Dewhurst was an establishment RINO. I hope she takes a bigger role in finding worthy candidates.

He was never a solid conservative. He was always a moderate who could be easily convinced to vote with the democrats or at most vote against the conservatives.
He voted for all the Supreme Ct justices nominated by republicans. I am assuming he voted for the Bush tax cuts, Am I wrong about this?
I don’t remember specific votes. I just remember his name on the wrong side time and time again, along with Snowe, Collins, Voinovich, Specter, etc.

That was a strange race. Cruz is outstanding and I am so glad he won. I don’t know if Perry picked Dewhurst, I doubt it, but he did endorse him along with Huckaby, they usual suspects and Texas Right to Life. The last one was the only one that surprised me. Especially glad Dewhurst lost in that early in the campaign or slightly before, he was cavorting in D.C. with some Democrat strategist. He has acted more conservative in this legislative session but I believe had he been elected he would be lapdog to any power that be in order to gain his own position and positive media. In other words, he may have been KBH II.
It appears that Cruz is dragging Cornyn along the conservative line. Good deal and kind of humorous.
Why are they even going through this charade. They all know he will be confirmed. It is a joke.
I guess I could take credit cause I'm a Republican Tea Party supporter that has been a Freeper for decades, but my one vote and the 2 other votes of my family is all I can offer. I think Palin can offer much more than a few Freepers.

Hagel: Senator Cruz, who are you going to believe, the Hagel who agreed with what that woman said and that I agreed with then, or the Hagel who is now denying that he said what he clearly stated in that video? You have to believe me now, because, I so desperately want to work for my hero, Obama.
I like this guy Cruz! I pray that he doesn’t get beaten down by the SOBs in DC.
These people are disgusting liars and beyond disgrace. They do not deserve to be Americans and especially don't deserve to hold government positions.
