Few are the men and women in American public life who haven't heard Mr. Dooley's famous aphorism: "Politics ain't beanbag." John Boehner, currently serving out his community service as speaker of the House, appears to have been meditating on Mr. Dooley's cautionary wisdom. At the Ripon Society last week he said the Obama administration was trying "to annihilate the Republican Party."
Better late than never, Speaker Boehner now sees that Barack Obama's notion of political competition is Mad Max inside the Thunderdome: "Two men enter, one man leaves."
Last week during the president's second inaugural address, if one can employ that hallowed phrase to describe this speech, Mr. Obama used the occasion to defend entitlement programs by whacking his defeated presidential opponent: "They do not make us a nation of takers."
This was the second time Mr. Obama used a traditionally elevated forum to take down his opposition. His 2010 State of the Union speech will be remembered in history for nothing other than an attack on members of the Supreme Court seated before him. Justice Samuel Alito's whispered "Not true" would prove a prophetic comment on the Obama modus operandi.
Subsequent targets of the president's contempt have included the members of Congress's deficit-reduction supercommittee, the Ryan budget ("antithetical to our entire history"), repeated attacks on the "well off" and bankers, and famously a $100 million dump-truck of vilification on Mitt Romney.
When he won, the rationalization was that it was all a shrewd if brutal campaign strategy. But it kept coming. What is striking about the Obama technique is that it's not so much criticism as something closer to political obliteration, driving his opposition out of the political arena altogether.

They don’t really need to exterminate us. If one cannot speak a forbidden thought, like sodomy is unnatural, without losing one’s job, paying a prohibitive fine, and/or having one’s children taken by the state, then they’ll have accomplished what they want without violence. I’m not saying they wouldn’t eventually resort to violence if they had to, but why bother when there are other means to silence the vast majority of us? The few that are left will be held up for derision as regressive throwbacks.
That first occurred to me after the election in November, and frequently since then. This status quo cannot endure.
Hundreds of thousands of people show up in Washington for a pro-life event. It barely gets a mention in the papers.
That's as if the media during the Vietnam era had avoided covering the protest movement. Then, dissent was treated as important; now, it's impolite, unspeakable.

History does prove the left cannot tolerate dissent. As someone on the right, I respect the right of people to say sodomy is normal and natural. I think it’s idiocy, but I respect their right to be idiots. That said, why do they want to silence us? Could it be that the truth is destructive to their worldview? Perhaps. The Bible does make it clear that Christians will be persecuted for telling the truth. Conservativism is not necessarily Christian, but it’s highly offensive to many on the left.
It’s also amazing how the left’s distortions extend to the language itself. Fairness and justice to me means something entirely different to someone on the left. We aren’t even speaking the same language anymore.
What can be done about it? I don’t know. Perhaps we need to be even more vocal about the truth in far more settings. The left is even attacking that. They are trying to make politics and religion off limits in public. This is thought tyranny, a war on the mind if you ask me. As I wrote, the left has turned deception into an art form.
This is the goal of Obama’s Teleprompter.
Obama’s own goal is to snort as much cocaine as possible without detection.
We see proof of this with his “skeet shooting all the time” comment, which is:
1. Not from Teleprompter.
2. Can only be attributed to delusion from serious drug use.
