President Obama is riding a wave of personal popularity into his second term, with his highest favorability ratings since his first year in office, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Fully 60 percent of Americans have a favorable impression of Obama in the new poll, up slightly from October but a clear shift in opinion from an election year in which his ratings hovered in the mid-to-low 50s. And by 39 percent to 26 percent, the president now has more “strongly” positive ratings than strongly negative reviews, breaking a two-year stretch in which intense opposition was on par with (or higher than) intense support.
Obama’s inaugural address earned fewer positive marks and appears to have served mainly as a pep rally, with raving reviews from supporters and plenty of yawns from his opponents. While the speech drew twice as many cheers as jeers — 51 percent approved while 24 percent disapproved — a quarter of Americans had no opinion on the speech. More than eight in 10 Democrats approved of Obama’s second inaugural, but at least three in 10 Republicans and independents have no reaction at all.
Whatever the reactions to the speech, Obama’s general likability has improved across a variety of constituencies, including a wavering base and the political middle. Obama’s favorable ratings have climbed by double digits since last year among liberals, racial minorities and people under age 40. Among each group, at least two-thirds now see Obama positively.

At the risk of catching it for saying so, I’m going to believe the WaPo poll. We screamed and yelled about liberal polls in the election and they were the ones that nailed it. It was the Rasmussen’s etc that missed the barn.
Saying it isn’t true because we don’t like it is dangerous. I believe it. And that is the first step toward identifying how many idiots we have in America and trying to do whatever we can about it. But if we say it isn’t raining when it is, then we won’t buy an umbrella and wonder why in the world we got wet.
Sad state of affairs in America.

“Their Finest Hour” (heh, heh!)
Cue all the chickens heading home to roost that were “kicked down the road” from 2012 to 2013.
The economy began to collapse in Q4 2012 immediately after Barry was reelected and employers realized that Obamacare was guaranteed to crush profits and job creation for the foreseeable future.

It’s an ABC poll. What else would one expect.

But, but, but if the WaPo says it, it has to be true, right???

These numbers are probably inflated, but it is clear to me that least 50% of our fellow citizens are imbeciles.

Saying it isnt true because we dont like it is dangerous. I believe it.The point is not is it true - I'm also certain the WaPo can conjure up a question that evokes a slight majority who think Obama is a nice guy personally.
The real point is Gallup just published a report showing that Obama is tied with GWB for lowest job approvals.
This story is how the assholes in the MSM respond.
Remember when Bush was president, the daily stories about his job approval from the same folks? Thats the issue.

“This is personal approval, not job approval...”
Yeah, the survey probably was worded like this:
1.As head of State President Obama has a difficult job in front of him. Not only is the economy on his plate, but international relations as well.
Do you approve or disapprove of the job President Obama is doing? Would you say: Highly approve, approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove disapprove, or very disapprove?
2. As you know, President Obama loves basketball, shaved ice and playing with his little girls and his dog Bo.
How would you rate his personal likability?
Very likable, likeable, somewhat likeable, unlikeable or very unlikeable?
