The Jefferson quote that I like better is

“I view great cities as pestilential to the morals, the health and the liberties of man.”

The title of this thread is not correct - the country will not follow. Rural, agrarian based communities will thrive.

I was just looking at an old NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Dec 2011 in which the last article was THE CITY SOLUTION TO EARTH’S PROBLEMS.

It is about how modernized cities are the wave of the future.
