Is this really kowtowing to Obama? They’re all Senators, and they’ve worked together for decades. Kerry’s their buddy, of course they were going to pass him through without issue. His ideology, his traitorous past have nothing to do with it since he’s got his buddies voting for him.

Why? Elections have consequences. We lost. Generally speaking, the President gets the cabinet he wants. Like a lot of constitutional originalists, Rand probably believes disagreeing with a nominee, no matter how vehemently, is just not reason enough to vote to deny the President his choice.
Kerry is a disaster who's been wrong about pretty much everything in his entire career, but this is the result of losing yet another election.
