I agree. I wonder what actual law he would have violated. Were they afraid that the heavy gun might fall on the child and smash his/her toe later?

Do the police not have better things to do?

Maternal grandmother. Probably a nasty tempered, interfering old woman. And I am a woman.

Dykes claims that it was the baby's maternal grandmother who saw the photo and called the police.

Mother-in-law. Figures.

No sure but I saw some where it was a BB gun and it was also pointed at the babys head.....Not the best choice for a father and child pose to put on face book and if true denotes a screw loose on the fathers part

So the next time a uniformed badgemonkey picks up a child and puts him within inches of his duty weapon said JBT needs to be arrested and charged for the exact same crime.

Man we have GOT to start thinning out the morons and control freaks infesting government.

Astonishing.
Our unionized police are no different than any government workers.
It’s all about their rice bowl and who can take it from them.

Police say that the close proximity of the gun to the child created a substantial risk of physical harm.

Well come on FR Jack Boot Lickers! Tell us again how the police are on "our side" (whatever that is.) Tell us how they are not instruments of tyranny because they were just doing their jobs and you want them to go home at night, etc.

Seeing how long it is before some idiot posts something attacking me personally for blasphemy for saying something unkind about their blue gods.

I think this is great and view it as our cue to immediately begin videotaping EVERY PUBLIC SERVANT we can find at all times,at work, at home, in the bar, brothel, local drug dealers house....and begin posting them online for the world to see. And of course any time someone observes ANY PUBLIC SERVANT doing anything remotely questionable CALL 911.

In the city where I live, BB guns and pellet guns are banned by city ordinance.

When I was about 5, my dad bought me a set of gunfighter drawing pistols, cap guns actually, and holsters on each side of a gun belt. Cost him the better part of a weeks pay (1950). I bet he is rolling over in his grave right now seeing something like this.

Our family picture books have me holding all sorts of firearms when I was a lad too as he was teaching me how to hunt and shoot. If one of these F......g anti gun morons got ahold of those albums, they would probably move to dig him up and burn him at some stake. Actually, if they want to view those albums for that purpose, come and get them boys, bring a lot of help to carry you all out.

This “incident” and arrest is both ridiculous and scary. Now our private lives are being monitored by the politically correct police. I consider this incident to be an abuse of police power, especially their liberal interpretation of child endangerment. This is the America I fear and exactly what our Founding Fathers were trying to protect us against. If he’s convicted, this will set a further precedent against guns and personal privacy and lead to more legislation requiring homes with children to be “gun free” zones.

WOW. criminal what the police think is a crime.

One reason I DON’T have Facebook.

My kids have been around guns since they were toddlers. They are all over 21 now. Teach ‘em safety early, I say. I know I have some pictures that the prosecutor or police in the article would have me arrested.

When did we lose America?
