Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, told Newsmax TV over the weekend that when it comes to common-sense restrictions on abortion, the American people are with us.
When you talk about common-sense restrictions on abortionparental consent and notification, waiting periods, bans on partial-birth abortion, bans on late-term abortions, womens right-to-know lawsthose are all overwhelmingly popular, Reed told Newsmax on Saturday at the National Review Summit in Washington.
In fact, about 80 percent of voters who identify themselves as pro-choice oppose abortion in late periods of pregnancy and oppose abortion after the child can survive outside the womb. We recognize that, for now, Roe vs. Wade is the law of the landand unless and until the Supreme Court decides otherwise, thats going to remain the law of the land, Reed added. But when it comes to common-sense restrictions, the American people are with usand its not even close.

Remove the word "abortion" and substitute "guns" and it's the same language that the left has been using, successfully, to advance their causes for a long time.
Incrementally, one "common sense" step at a time and you will eventually get there.
If you go for the entire package at one time, you will fail.
Slowly, persistently, relentlessly, grind the opposition down.
any, time you see\hear “common sense”, somebody is trying to do an end run around the Constitution or US Code.
Ping.
So much double-talk, never mind ignorance of the legislative process . . . Mr. Reed needs to re-read Revelation 3:16 and the fate of lukewarm Christians.
You got it, sir!
In medieval times, the peasants were generally not educated nor were they terribly intelligent. The phrase "common sense" stemmed from an understanding that even the "common people" understood something, so it was universally accepted as sensible, or "common sense."
Like so many other things, the Left has turned "common sense" on its ear and made it the new media buzz word. Problem is that everything they're claiming to be "common sense," is anything but.
I'm growing to question the methodologies and intentions of media outlets doing these "surveys" that are finding such a large number of "Americans" in favor of gun-control, abortion, etc., when "common sense," in the truest form, tells us that it's actually quite the opposite.
Even the polling organizations are in the tank for the Left. It's actually reached the point that the media is pushing propaganda FOR the Left. The MSM is actually the modern day version of Goebbels.
They have used the “common sense” phrase in gun control recently. Why not turn it around on them? I will add another one; we not only need common sense abortion limits, but we also need to have a national discussion on abortion.
