Tea party activists looking to oust Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in a GOP primary may get some help from an unlikely source: Democrats.
Big Democratic donors, local liberal activists and a left-leaning super PAC in Kentucky are telling tea partiers that they are poised to throw financial and organizational support behind a right-wing candidate should one try to defeat the powerful GOP leader in a 2014 primary fight.

Now, Paul is supporting McConnells reelection bid. And much to the chagrin of tea party activists looking for a McConnell primary challenger, Massie has emphatically said he wont take on McConnell. The conservative congressman is even scheduled to be a featured guest at a McConnell fundraiser in February in Northern Kentucky.
And one of McConnells first moves in his campaign was to hire a trusted aide of the Paul family Jesse Benton to run his campaign.

How many “third party” conservatives have you ever seen get elected to anything? They’re useful to Democrats and for the purpose of stroking their own bloated egos. They wait for gullible non-thinkers to make them feel important. STOP and THINK!!!
Oh I have been thinking.
By the way , where are Conservatives going in the Republican party?
Lets see now. We have the Fabulous 4 who are double-crossing us on Amnesty.
Boehner and McConnell agreed to kick the debt can downthe road in a late night January screwing.
The same two will probably fold on Sequestration.
Look what they did for us in the last election.
Oh Yeah I have been thinking. Thinkin that the Republican party is about as useless as a used condom.
Then you are going to be wandering in the wilderness because there is no other choice. Get busy and do all you can to make the Republican party strong—there is no other choice. It is not possible to develop another viable “third party”—it’s just not possible.
I know people in KY are stupid, but I don’t think they are that stupid. Ashley Judd?
She’s even dumber than McConnell. Better looking with nicer boobs, but dumb all the same.
I am wandering in the Wilderness now,and gettin crapped on by people who are supposed to be on my side.
The hell with them, I will wander, and if they come up with someone good I will vote republican. Otherwise they can KMA.
The salient point: if a Republican votes for the things the Dems want then this money won’t go to his challenger; if a Republican votes against the things the Dems want then there won’t be a conservative challenger.
McConnell will be the case that makes the point: Last session he did terrible. and conservatives wanted him primaried. But he’s going to do pretty good this session so the Dems will want him primaried but the conservatives won’t.
The Dems won’t help us primary or third-party RINOs for the same reason the Koch brothers and Crossroads don’t fund fiscally conservative, socially liberal third-party candidates in Dem districts: word gets out.
That’s fine, just don’t help elect Democrats.
You are so stupid, you believe Democrats are going to help you, when in reality, you're helping the Democrats. Maybe Republicans deserve to be called the stupid party. Deliver us from evil.
You got it. I can’t believe there is any Freeper stupid enough to fall for this. These Democrats are not doing this to help elect a Tea Party candidate—they doing it to elect Obama Democrats and we have Freepers falling for this scam.
No, I’m not naive. The democrats want to weaken the republican leader so they can take him out. But Kentucky is a solidly republican state. And the people of Kentucky just elected Rand Paul and before him they elected Jim Bunning. So the democrats are going for a celebrity to try to gain the seat.
McConnell is inept and is a poor leader so taking him out won’t change much as far as the republican caucus goes. In fact, the caucus will be stronger without him. The conservatives in Kentucky need to decide, first to remove McConnell, and then to pick a great candidate like Paul or Bunning.
It's this simple folks, we can either vote straight party Republican or we run the risk of empowering Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.
This ain't Heaven, folks, so we had make the best out of it that we can while here.
You don’t even know when you’re being used, do you? To allow yourself to be used by a bunch of Democrats, is pretty stupid. You’re being duped.
Hello! I’m the same person you’ve been arguing with on another thread.
Yep. The dems are smart. Knockout a sure bet on the Republican side...McConnell...replace him with old out of touch so con rube. Let the media bait the trap with a rape question or any other question about woman’s sexuality. Let said so con rube take the bait. And VIOLA! Ashley Judd walks right in.
I know that. I still think you’re a dimwit without a brain with which to THINK. You’re as bad as a Democrat because you’re willing to help them. I hope you’re happy with Ms Judd—you’ll feel so good about being rid of McConnell. This is so dumb, I can’t believe I’m wasting time on you but I have hope that occasionally someone will see the light and figure out that when you help a Democrat—you help a Democrat!!!
“Youre as bad as a Democrat because youre willing to help them.”
Right. But when I say the same thing about a moderate republican, “OH THE HORROR! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT ABOUT SOMEBODY WITH AN “R” NEXT TO THEIR NAME??!!”
I’ve decided not to vote for people who help the democrats. You will continue to support them blindly.
You’re beyond being educable. Don’t you feel a little stupid by siding with Democrats? They’re making a fool out of every Republican who is stupid enough to go along with their deviousness. Enjoy Senator Judd. What if you are successful and get Judd elected and Republicans lose a majority by one vote? Will you fee good about it or remorseful?
“Dont you feel a little stupid by siding with Democrats?”
The democrats want McConnell defeated because he is a republican. I want McConnell defeated because he’s a feckless leader and removing him from office is the only way the republicans will get a new leader in the senate.
If McConnell today said he will step down as leader if he were re-elected, he would have my full support. If ANY republican dared challenge McConnell’s leadership within the caucus and succeeded, I would have no problem with McConnell getting re-elected, as I’ve tried to make clear.
But either way, the republicans in the senate need new leadership to battle the democrats.
Tell me, how do you feel about those 3000 "third party" voters who decided Coleman wasn't good enough and they helped elect that crazy man, Franken and because of them, we now have Obamacare. Do you respect them or do you despise them?
Depends on why they chose to vote for somebody else. If they didn’t like what Coleman voted for (or against), I have no problem with them voting for some other candiate.
I’m not voting for Brown again because I don’t like the votes he’s taken and he doesn’t give a damn about his oath. He’s lost my vote permanently. I’m not going to reward a politician with a vote just because of the party name they choose to try to fool me with. I would never vote for any democrat but will not vote for someone just because they’re a republican. Brown voted for Dodd-Frank, he voted for the START treaty, he thinks the people should be funding Planned Parenthood and NPR and PBS. He thought President Obama just declaring a recess in the senate and making appointments was just fine. Sorry, I’m not voting for such a man. I will not help him and will not be responsible for any of his votes. If he wins, it will be without me. I’m not going to be betrayed time and again and just overlook it when November rolls around. If you stand by the Constitution, then I will stand by you. Otherwise, go get the vote of one of the democrats you love so much.
