Appearing on NBCs Meet the Press this afternoon, former GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) praised Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and lamented that she did not win the presidency in 2008, as he believes that would lead to a better chance for deficit reduction today than under President Obama.
Host David Gregory showed Rep. Ryan video of Sec. Clinton speaking with him at the inaugural luncheon, which Ryan characterized as chumming it up over a variety of personal topics.
The congressman then praised Clinton: Look, if we had a [Hillary] Clinton presidency, if we had Erskine Bowles as Chief of Staff of the White House or President of the United States, I think we would have fixed this fiscal mess by now. Thats not the kind of presidency were dealing with right now.

A valid observation, I’m so damn sick of everyone pouncing on every dang one of OUR guys.
If I were a flaming lib, I’m be laughing my tail off, our side can’t come together on anything.
I once had great hopes for Ryan, now I learn he is a friggin dingbat.
I should have known better.
Exactly. Before people start throwing him under the bus they should stop and think he has his reasons. Obama has made a career out of pitting people against each other. Ryan knows that the Clinton’s hang over everything he does. Ryan is just fomenting some good rivalry on their side for once.
Scary is that on another thread we had someone defending Paul Ryan at all costs...and questioning whether he supported Illegal Alien Amnesty (Ryan does, he even said as much to Marco Rubio).
Folkks, Paul Ryan is not a Conservative. Wake up, people.
“The Republican party should just close up shop and merge with the Communist Dimocrap party.”
They Should...there’s really no difference anymore. Lets have a CONSERVATIVE Party, and the Democrats!
Agree...it was a brilliant rope-a-dope trap.
Sorry..but on freeper only the second coming of Christ would be a conservative enough candidate...on second thought, hmmm, maybe not even Jesus or Moses.
and Ryan is right...Hillary would have gone Bill’s way, try to go center a little politically and thus less insane spending.
Jindal is absolutely correct, the R party is scary stupid.
Agree with your read.
Its no wonder nobama was able to beat us at every turn, our side can rapidly assemble the circular firing squad with astounding tunnel vision and little regard for the big picture.
I ‘ve already started against hiIllary! as the next president,
You are exactly right.
Dingbat is the perfect term.
He’s growing more feminine, and chattery, and sort of liberal/nurturing/pansyish even as he sounds ever sillier.
p.s.
Bobby Jindal was out there calling Republicans stupid (for all the wrong reasons) at the same time Ryan was heaping praise on Hillary.
Maybe these two candy-asses should declare their 2016 ticket immediately so we can get to work on drumming them out.
Hillary: “ So I’ve got a lot of ideas, I just obviously can’t propose them all. I can’t afford them all. The country can’t afford them all.”
hmm I also have a lot of ideas. But they involve cutting government spending so we can afford them all.
Paul must be low on cocktail invites from the beltway, and he’s trying to get back on the list....
” IMHO this was a dig to get under the malignant narcissist skin... Let’s see if it does... “
OK but he should please not try to get under OUR skin.
What is wrong with the idiots “on our side”!!?
“Folkks, Paul Ryan is not a Conservative. Wake up, people.”
He still has a pretty good record. Just because he doesn’t sound like Allen West or Michelle Bachmann doesn’t mean he’s not a conservative.
That is the politically correct term for COMMUNIST. Hillary is a self identified Communitarian
He may be making a mistake, then again?
I am sure you feel the same way about Sarah Palin's efforts too, right?
Ryan is a good ideas guy on the conservative side. I would not try to call him a RINO. The GOP establishment likes him too, because he does not challenge their wrong track.
