This has nothing whatever to do with layoffs; there have been and never will be enough professional law enforcement officers to arrive on the scene of a crime soon enough to prevent bodily harm in anything approaching a statistically significant percentage of the incidence of violent crime.
Never.

He runs as a democrat, but, he’s so conservative it oozes from his view on law enforcement.
He’s been all over the local talk shows explaining exactly that point.

For the first 150 years in most of this country, it was in the LITERAL sense, as there were no police.
He’s definitely no Colin Powell. He’s been sheriff for a while, perhaps 10 years? He hasn’t faltered from his views. He even guest hosted for one of our local talkers. He was ok, the talk show hosting wasn’t his thing. The only reason, IMHO, he runs as a democrat in Milwaukee is it’s the only way he’d be elected.
Good, because it is a glaring fault in the PSA.
It may turn out that the Sheriff’s Department/Office will become the most effective law enforcement agency for “the people.”
This is not to put down well run, led, and staffed police departments (My son is a federal Police Officer and combat veteran of Iraq. He protects federal buildings/facility and personnel).
The problem is that the police departments, esp. the position of Chief of Police in the larger cities is too often determined by local politics, political winds, and sometimes wacked out Criminology theories (Minnesota’s Anthony Bourza was the prime example of this).
Sheriffs, especially in the more rural areas of our country, including Joe Arpaio’s Maricopa County in Arizona, not only have the regular crime, but also those of illegal immigrants, drug-traffickers, terrorists, etc. Also, the area to be patrolled is usually much larger than that of a city’s.
Like the Texas Rangers and sheriffs of old, today’s Sheriff Department officers are on the frontlines of an ever enlarging war on crime and terrorism. They have to have very good leaders, men and women who understand what their job is, the role of good leadership, the need for good, trained officers under them, more than adequate equipment, and to be free from political correctness and cowardice.
This is what we are seeing in the national “Revolt of the Sheriffs”. It is a reassertion of “law enforcement” as the primary mission rather than that of “political correctness” and “political asskissing.”
And who is going to be the firstline of support for the Sheriff? The people, of course. In the old days, the Sheriff “deputized” the citizens to help him and his deputies.
Today, the Sheriff is going to need the help of the citizenry, including a well armed and trained citizenry, to fight the increasing level of certain crimes, especially along our southern borders. Call the citizens there a Sheriff’s “Auxiliary, if you will.
The citizen in the outer suburban and rural areas are definitely going to need the help of their local Sheriff’s Department, but, like those days on the frontier, a citizen must provide for their own defense, to hold off the criminals, to give the Sheriff time to respond.
Attempts to unreasonably limit or confiscate private arms held by law abiding citizens are increasing by the Democrats and their far-left, often Marxist allies. Feinstein, the clowns in the state legislatures from Connecticut to New York to even Colorado, and the whole Obama Administration (including the Dept. of Justice), are now the allies of the criminals.
One of the complaints of police departments is that the criminal is better armed than they are. The criminals’ weapons are not legally bought for them (in most cases). They get them from straw buyers, other criminals, even international terrorist gangs such as MS13 and MS 18, and possibly from Communist narcoterrorist organizations such as FARC in Colombia and maybe the old communists in the FALN and FSLM.
Also, never discount Cuba as a source of weapons.
The threat to America’s domestic safety is greater today than at any time in the past decade or two. Al Qaeda’s attacks on the Twin Towers (1993 and 2001) were only part of the onslaught. The Ft. Hood Massacre, the Little Rock Army recruiting station killing/wounding, and other little reported acts of terrorism, are part of a larger war being waged against America, yet our elected leaders don’t want to recognize this.
Otherwise, why wouldn’t they say that there is a “war on terror/ism”, not incidents of “manmade workplace violence”?
“We, the people” need to fight back ferociously, to deflate the deliberate disinformation and ignorant misinformation that the Left is spewing out like bile. When British fops like Piers Morgan and Martin Bashir (I think he’s British, he sounds like their stupids), try to tell us to disarm, ask them why the British police just ordered 25,000 newer handguns to replace the crap that they carry now.
Ask the Leftists to define an “assault weapon” and then hit them with the published definitions. Don’t let them define the battle or the definition.
Ask the gun-banners how many Uzis have been used in crimes in the US in the past 5 years. One was seized in a police task force raid in DC the other day. That was the first time that I’ve seen a report of an Uzi seizure in years.
Ask the Left how many NRA members have gone out and shot up cities, individuals, robbed banks, smuggled drugs, etc. If they give an answer, ask them to provide the documentation.
Expose these bastards for the liars and wackos that they are. Don’t give them an inch if their positions are both unconstitutional and out in Left field.
And make sure that the elected politicians and judges know that you are out to keep them on the sane straight and narrow. Otherwise, target them for political extinction.
Start now to organize “recall” movements, gather up potential candidates for their seats, and ask for investigations of the Leftist movements for violations of tax-exempt status.
The time is NOW to strike back, hard, fast, and continually. The Left is afraid of the American people. Forget about the “uneducated”. Right now it will be almost impossible to reach a majority of them with facts. The Messiah has made sure of that.
Reach those remaining moderates who have been brainwashed by the left. Reach out to crime victims who were unarmed and suffered the consequences. Show an understanding of the survivors and family of horrors such as Newton, Ct. Tell them and others that you are out there to help prevent more of these tragedies by focusing on the perpetrators.
Turn Obama’s words against him and Feinstein, etc. “If they bring a knife to a fight, you bring a gun”, and that “You can only bring that gun if you can legally buy and possess it”.
And finally tell them, the police are minutes away when you don’t have minutes, and that “Unarmed is not being safe in a dangerous situation. Armed is.”
Wow, one of them lost the us vs. them mindset so prevalent in police today? I’m impressed.

Clark announced this Friday (1/25/am and heard it while listening to radio conservative Charlie Sykes on WTMJ am 620. ABC radio national news carried by wtmj comes up with its news . But FAILS TO MENTION CLARK WANTS A TRAINING COURSE IN FACT IMPLIES HE DOESN’T WITH MAYOR BARNETTS RESPONSE OF VIGILANTEISM. WTMJ news lady corrected that but that news bulletin goes all the US.

Conservatives and supporters of the 2nd amendment the Obama regime is using the 2nd amendment argument to blame gun owners for its inability to deal with the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings commited in areas under their solid control using illegally obtained firearms.
Obama’s solution to those inner city problems is to remove those rights provided by the constitution to have and bear arms from all US citizens.
None of those 23 so called “reforms” and unconstitutional efforts being edicted by who some call an emperor do not deal with the following issues briefly outlined below let alone insane shooters using stolen weapons. .
They won’t because instead of creating a uniformly democratic society where every citizen has an equal voice no matter what their race or ethnicity.
Obama’s policies have divided races and ethnic groups gerrymandering congressional districts where much of this criminal activity occurs. GOPES {goverment of the people (republican party) elites} see this issue as a 3rd rail because most of it is black on black or illegal vs illegal (Mexican) activity .
GOPES are also afraid to say that policy also increased racial tension which has resited in deaths. But again GOPES accept this because of the influence of mainline socialist media which would be accusing them of “racism” if they dare to question it.
The purpose of all this hype on guns is to keep the right and conservatives focused on what the Demo-Coms describe as issues through their propaganda arm known as the MSM (mainline socialist media) not on the problems created by the “Libs” on their road of good intentions or the socialist/fascists/communists successors to comtrol over todays Democrat party; Which is the cost ,waste, and corruption of his administration which had led to a 16 trillion dollar deficit.
Not one word will address or offer a solution about the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings using illegaly obtained mostly handguns and revolvers .Using code words like “assault rifles” which are really single shot per trigger pull semi automatic rifles, used for small game hunting or target practice. That are legal in every state but made to look like their military counterpart..Called AR’s since Viet Nam and a DOD decision ARs are really medium caliber (22.3) machine guns designed to wound not necessarilly kill which is why they are automatic and fire as many rounds that are in its magazine once the trigger is kept in the pulled position. .They replace quick kill 30 caliber semi automatic (single shot) M-1, Springfield rifles and carbines used during WWII and Korea and approved in most states for use in big game hunting.

Obama certainly can’t critique a system created by his ilk .Ignored in his 23 edicts is that when once caught, perps get set free with lenient sentencing from “liberal” judges or sob sister plea bargain prosecution (which Obama supports for when a Illinois state senator while introducing legislation to sentence any 15 year old as an adult, Obama voted “absent” with others on roll call ) promoted by the MSM,The New York Times CNN, NBC and,ABC. There’s certainly no criticism of “no snitch” mentality partcularly in areas where these shootings are rampant.
It would be nice at these rallys if conservatives would point these facts out to Obamas adoring public
