It’s already being promoted. It’s called Islam. ( Tongue firmly in cheek here.)
Anyway...You can bet that Satanism will be given loving support in out socialist-entitlemen and single payer schools. It’s a diversity thing, you see! /s

A few generations of socialist-entitlement and secular godless indoctrination has now produced a citizenry that can scarcely wrap their minds around that fundamental truth.

I can’t speak to schools the way they are today. I was an associate school psychologist//psychological examiner for many years before I went into private practice, and schools during my time were conservative. Remember, it was in Texas so that made a difference. The last school system I was in was in the NASA area south of Houston and every school was serious about math and the sciences.
Today, I don’t know, except this county where I am now is very conservative.
The commieTARDS try to say there is a “societal interest” in making sure kids are educated to a certain (state-determined) standard. But I have news for them. I have ZERO stake in whether or not their kids learn to read and they have no stake in whether mine learn to read. It’s a family matter and the government should have no role.
I also have no interest in having any kids in my care exposed to secular humanist ideas on the way to learning the to read, write and do math.
The socialist commie schools teach evolution AS FACT. They teach the old-Earth theory AS FACT. They teach nonsense about biology that reserves NO ROLE for the supernatural nature of human life. They teach about antibiotics, but not the power or prayer for healing. They teach the “mechanics” of the body without teaching about the immortal soul that powers life itself!
Given your training and education surely you can see that people in a culture often can not see the culture they are swimming in. They are like fish in water who are unaware of the water that gives them oxygen.
Sadly, most of the time when I say to people that their child's local government school is a socialist and single payer entitlement ( and **godless**) they look at me as if I have grown cucumber out of my ear. Really they do. They simply, mentally or culturally, can NOT process my statement. ( Not Freepers, thankfully.)
Well...Government owned and run socialist-entitlement schooling is like that. It is amazing that many who attended them swear that they were “conservative”. The truth is that by merely supporting, upholding, and enabling a **fundamentally** socialist-entitlement and single payer system of education delivery that the people staffing these institutions were NOT teaching conservative principles. Instead, they were teaching children to be comfortable with using a socialist-entitlment and they were forcing children to think and reason in a godlessly secular manner for 99.9999% of the time.
The danger of socialist-entitlement, single-payer, and compulsory schooling is that the children risk learning to be comfortable with socialism and government compulsion. Gee! If the voting mob can give them tuition-free school, why not use that power to get **lots** of free stuff? It only took 1 to 3 generations of socialist-entitlement K-12 schooling to give the nation Franklin D. Roosevelt with his **compulsory** socialist programs. And...By today's standards those early socialist-entitlement schools would be declared “conservative”. They weren't. They were socialism is full bore action and they were almost entirely godless. Is it any wonder that the nation saw FDR and the government as a redeemer and savior?
I am reminded of Orwell's newspeak and Yuri Besmenov’s “demoralization.
Only in a totally scrambled, upside down, demoralized and Newspeak culture can socialist-entitlement, single-payer, godlessly secular, compulsory and government owned and run K-12 indoctrination be called “conservative” .
You can’t abolish schoolboards without getting involved locally. And if you try to establish private K-12 schooling, you will be harassed out of existence by the public schoolboards.
You need to give more thought to what you’re proposing, wintertime.
Texas buys more school textbooks than any other state and therefore publishing companies take the suggestions of our state board of education before they print textbooks to offer to the rest of the states. You see, if Texas won't buy their textbooks, they are in financial trouble - they must sell to Texas. The textbooks in your state (the reader of this post) are likely ones our state board approved and may have changed from the original they were presented.
Our state board of education is elected and it is a hot race every time between conservatives and a few Democrats who run. ALWAYS, the vast majority elected are conservatives and I mean REAL God fearing conservatives who don't want socialism crap in our texbooks and don't want history rewritten.
Blue states hate our Texas State Board of Education due to the influence they have on the final version of textbooks. The few Democrats who get on that board, hate the majority conservatives on there. I don't use the word, “hate”, very often because I think it is overused, but in this instance, it fits.
Every meeting is a public meeting and also on the web, and the fur does fly but conservatives don't budge.
Not all subjects’ textbooks are done every year. There is a system to it and some subjects will be one year and other subjects another year.
California truly despises our board of education and I don't know if California refuses those textbooks but they would have to write their own - but maybe they do. Or, maybe they just have the most far left person in the state write history and science and math, etc., and that's it. I just remember how mad California would get with these textbooks being approved/changed by Texas conservatives.
You can be sure our Bible belt conservatives will continue to edit textbooks. When I was more active in the party in another county, I remember the board of education conservative candidates would come and talk to us. It was one conservative against another conservative and give your vote to the one you thought would be the strongest in those meetings. Really, most are strong women and one lives in this county which isn't surprising. Everyone you see in this county is a conservative.
I'll check out our state board of education and see what is on the agenda for this year.
So, I think the population electing a school board is key to the philosophy the board uses to run a school. A liberal county will end up with a liberal school board.
I fail to see why I have any obligation whatsoever to fund your children's education (or that of any other than my own) or waste time and effort down at the local edjumakashun collective wrangling with committed Marxists, National Edumakashun Association or American Federation of "Teachers" commissars to guide policy down at P.S. 666 where God is a four-letter word, where patriotism is regarded as "jingoism" and where common sense is regarded as reaction.
Turning off the TV is always a good idea as is a lessening of the endless chase for mammon (bearing in mind the Scriptural injunction that those who will not work will not eat). Remodeling your kitchen is infinitely more likely to be a successful and effective use of your time than wrestling with the Marxists and birdbrains running the local edjamakashun collective as though it were actually possible to influence those tax wasting pigs.
My wife and I saw that our elder children were largely homeschooled and then my wife went to work for a strictly private Catholic K-12 established by the parents to avoid even the parochial schools (also infested even in this conservative diocese by the usual gang of leftist suspects.
Really Catholic priests from many parishes compete to spend time with this private school where Latin begins in about 5th grade, history is taught with strong Catholic and American values, algebra is mastered BEFORE high school, theology is taught in every grade, and everyone attends Mass on First Fridays at the local Tridentine (old Latin Mass) parish. Class sizes are small and tuition is affordable and the parents actively volunteer in many capacities to keep the school viable. That's what we have done. How about you?
We are far too vigilant to expose our kids to P.S. 666 or its bureaucratic bosses and union masters. How is that wrassling with the gummint skewels' godless commies going for you?
The conservative goal ought to be nothing less than abolition of the gummint skewels.
That doesn't happen in Texas. We have numerous private schools that are Catholic and Christian schools and home schooling is accepted here as a right parents have. School boards do not harass these schools.
Not here, anyway. When we yanked the stepdaughter out of public schools, several families joined together, hired a teacher, and set up a private school pretty darn fast. Schools don't cost a lot to run, if real education is your goal.
/johnny
In the 12 years that our private K-12 has existed, no gummint edjamakashun poobahs have ever even TRIED to harass it, and you can bet they never will. If they try, it will be a very splashy, very public war which will do nothing but benefit our K-12 and expose the gummint skewels to the ridicule they deserve. Oh, and I don't really think they want to even imagine comparing performance and competence in public and, no, we do NOT cherry pick. We also have autistic kids and other "special needs" kids with NO gummint subsidies received or wanted. The doors are open to non-Catholic kids but the education is still Catholic and monthly First Fridays are mandatory as is respectful behavior, manners, morality, politeness and a lot heavier academic workload than gummint skewels are EVER likely to undertake.
