Dave Leip’s site has the map you’re looking for, but I can’t find it on short notice.
Plenty of state breakdowns too.

These are House races? Looks like NH is lost!
We need it for presidential election results too but I’d bet it’s very similar.
Thanks
I know Michigan is slipping away from the democrats slowly but surely. The right to work law is probably the most devastating thing to happen to democrats in Michigan in the past century. The unions provided some $250 million in democrat campaign funding.
“Actually, its the WORST thing Republicans could do.”
Come back to us G Larry, and offer proof on how this is the WORST thing. We’re not brainless liberals, and we need more than your emotional claim that this is the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL I don’t care if its the worst thing or not, I’m gonna support it in my state. Everybody else is free to do the same or not in their states.
“Looks like giving control to the cities, to me.”
Duh! Which party do you think controls liberal cities?
I’m aware.
Why is the GOP advocating it, speaking of “duh?”
Well, let’s calculate how many electoral votes Buckwheat would win in California with district apportionment rather than winner take all. I would guess that it would be less than 54.
each state can do this on their own, I think it’s a good idea, really. This would make the Presidency a real representative of the people no matter which way it went.
Do the same with Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia while you’re at it. There will be additional EV’s freed up for Democrats. Democrats have advocated such a move for years. It will have the effect of giving control over to large population centers, ie cities. This is something the Founders feared. Look at the Senate not just the Electoral College.
Sorry, I’m not following your logic.
Detroit, for example, delivers all of Michigan’s EVs to the rats. Milwaukee delivers all of Wisconsin’s EVs to the rats.
LA delivers a ton of votes to obuma, but if we counted up congressional districts, Buckwheat would not take the entire EV total in California.
Explain yourself.
Apply the same scheme to overall conservative states or “purple” leaners. You will not take all of Texas. Or Georgia. Or any of the others. It will free up EV’s for Democrats in conservative states. You’ll effectively be giving control over to population density, across the board. This as you note favors Democrats, and they are aware of this, having favored it for years.
i agree. county by county. the one with the most counties wins the state. no more cess pools like detroit over riding the entire states wishes.
Why does any state allow the populace to vote for the EC representatives? Remember the state legislatures are made up of politicians and if the people start making enough noise they’ll make all kinds of changes just to protect their jobs.
The reason to fix is is that winner take all is a bad system. Just look at the CD or district maps from the last 4 elections and you can see the problem, states are almost entirely red yet because of the large population in the blue pockets the state went blue. The entire point of the EC is to keep the large population centers from dictating to the lower population centers who will be president. There’s no reason not to lower the level of granularity.
article 2section1.....specific on how the vote is taken not on how an elector is chosen.
I don’t care how a state decides to select electors. I do care that the silly notion of proportional distribution should somehow exist be quashed. That leads inevitably to election by popular vote which I am not interested in at all. I do not want Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angles, Seattle, San Francisco, and New York City deciding our elections
Your post is making me reconsider my position, but I’m convinced yet.
We need to consider rat voter fraud and work that into the equation. Once states start arresting rat voters for fraud, that changes everything.
There are many variables to consider and many not favorable for the nazi rats.
I just looked at your voting map there in Virginia and it looks like it would work for you there.
since the states control re-districting.
**************
True to a degree but don’t forget that the VRA put nine states under the feds for approval in redistricting and it has expanded to include some counties/locales in other states.
That said even under VRA approval those states have been able to elect Republican delegations.
THANK YOU!
You seem to be missing the point. THIS IS A GOP STRATEGY FOR SWING STATES WHERE THE REPS CONTROL THE GOVERNORSHIP AND STATE LEGISLATURE. IT WOULD NOT BE USED FOR RED STATES AND THE DEMS WOULD BLOCK ANY ATTEMPT TO DO IT FOR BLUE STATES.
The left wants direct election of the President via the popular vote. They have been supporting the efforts of Natiional Popular Vote that will circumvent the Constituton and the electoral college using state compacts. Once that happens, the Reps will never win the WH again.
