Obama to cut medical benefits for active, retired military, not union workers

In an effort to cut defense spending, the Obama Administration plans to cut health benefits for active duty and retired military personnel and their families while not touching the benefits enjoyed by unionized civilian defense workers.

The move, congressional aides suggested, is to force those individuals into Obamacare, Bill Gertz reported at the Washington Beacon.

The proposed increases in health care payments by service members, which must be approved by Congress, are part of the Pentagon’s $487 billion cut in spending. It seeks to save $1.8 billion from the Tricare medical system in the fiscal 2013 budget, and $12.9 billion by 2017.

Military personnel would see their annual Tricare premiums increase anywhere from 30 - 78 percent in the first year, followed by sharply increased premiums "ranging from 94 percent to 345 percent—more than 3 times current levels."

It has already started. Me and many of my retired friends believe they will eventually do away with Tricare and put us on some type of diminished benefits under Obamacare, where we have to pay huge co-pays, drugs, etc. They have already started piling on additional costs to us. The scum in the Pentagon are in on it. A bunch of life time blood suckers that have theirs under the government umbrella and screw the troops who are doing the bleeding and dying. I knew long ago that eventually we would lose everything we were told we would have. If I had it all to do over again, I would never had stayed for a career. EVEN NOW, I tell every kid who asks about military service, DO NOT DO IT. If you MUST do it, for training purposes, do the 3 years and learn a trade you can use on the out side and get the hell out. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES believe for one second that they will keep any promise they make to you. They lied to us. They are lying to you. IF you can talk a kid out of the military, DO SO!!! They will be used up and discarded. They will not be taken care of. I have been waiting OVER A YEAR to have a reevaluation by VA for injuries while on active duty. There is no appointment, contact, or anything pending. I get a letter every six months saying they are “working” on my case, yet they continue to delay. I truly believe they are hoping I will die before they have to do anything, like give me compensation for the injuries.

I’ve already told my 33 year old daughter to plan to move to Canada the minute this sorry SOB reinstates the draft. My daughter will not die in Obama’s never-ending contrived wars,
while his daughters are safe from harm, and chickenhawk Biden’s daughters are not drafted. To hell with these bastards. A country that systematically endorses and promotes the perverse and unnatural concept of women as front-line combat soldiers has become a country no longer worth fighting for.
