Anti-higher taxes activist Grover Norquist is joining an effort to convince conservatives to support statehood for Puerto Rico.
Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, is scheduled to appear at a press conference with Luis Fortuno, the former Republican governor of Puerto Rico, in Washington to push statehood for the territory next week.
The group organizing the effort is the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles.
“The group of conservative leaders will call on Congress to pass legislation to allow the people of Puerto Rico to decide their political future among non-territorial and constitutionally valid options,” according to a news release.
Others appearing at the conference include Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention.

The most recent vote was in favor of statehood. I for one do not understand why but am more in favor of statehood than independence. I own property there. PR currently gets lots of federal benefits and also gets to keep all the income taxes paid in PR as well. Many years ago the cost of living was very high in PR but now prices on food are cheaper than here in FL and most other items are right around the same price.

Anything but. Norquist knows exactly what he’s doing. And mostly what he’s done is destroy the republican party. He’s MR. AMNESTY, and you can be sure he’s in the close background priming Rubio. He’s a Muslim convert. He’s all about GROVER! His ‘no more tax’ gimmick, is just that, meant to fool conservatives into believing he really cares.
I’ve done years of research on this pompus ass. When it’s dirty and wrong for the country, you’ll always find Grover.

Norquist is pro-Illegal aliens, pro-CAIR/Muslim Brotherhood, and now wants 2 more Democrat senators. Sadly this vile man has his tentacles in almost every conservative group in the nation.
