Our Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms is under attack on many fronts.
Governor Deval Patrick, Representative David Linsky (D) Natick, and many others are in the process of, or already have filed new legislation which will severely restrict our second amendment rights while doing NOTHING to solve any real issues.
Once again our state legislators are committing "Blame and Punishment" of Massachusetts gun owners.
Among the many things our legislators are proposing:
10 round magazines loaded with more than 7 rounds, punishable by more than two years in jail.
Magazines containing more than 10 rounds, punishable by up to 10 years in jail.
Potential confiscation of lawfully purchased long guns and high capacity magazines (greater than 10 round capacity).
A complete ban on semi-automatic rifles with certain cosmetic features. (AR type rifles)
Up to 2 ½ years in jail for receiving more than 1 gun or magazine in a 30-day period.
Mandatory large capacity guns storage at gun clubs instead of in home.
Lawful private sales recorded on FA-10 forms will no longer be allowed.
Ban "high power" ammunition. (there's been no definition provided as to what that is)
Expanding local licensing authorities discretion to deny or restrict licenses to all guns including FID cards.
Mandatory insurance for all firearms owners. (see link for more info)
New proposed sales tax aimed at firearms/ammo purchase. (this has not been clarified)
Mental and physical health waivers to be signed upon applying for a gun license
Creating new crimes of assault with a firearm that requires no physical action by the lawful possessor
Anyone out there detected any “lines in the sand” yet?
No? Didn’t think so. Sorry to interrupt the posting.
As they continue to destroy this country, they are begging for a Civil War.
I am a peaceful guy and I believe that most conservatives are, but there is a breaking point and it could be around the next bend.
No insurance company is going to offer insurance. That means that this is equivalent to confiscation.
Notice how they are quick to create new crimes. Notice how eager they are to put innocent people in jail for what is not now a “crime.”
Notice how they don’t give one flying $h!i+ about taking guns from violent criminals.

Deval Patrick=a feral black in a suit.
I guess some people like high taxes and oppressive leftist governments. I have been up and down both coasts and to all points in between. Massachusetts would be the last coastal state I would want to end up in. Similarly, California is beautiful but it just isn’t worth it. I would take southwestern deserts over Massachusetts beaches every time.
I would side with Guns N Roses.
I’m sure the criminals that actually commit genuine gun crimes will comply.
You know, they’ve complied all along with the mountains of gun laws already passed.
this is just disarmament under the guise of ‘safety’ or ‘regulation’.
“No insurance company is going to offer insurance. That means that this is equivalent to confiscation.”
I agree. But what Linsky and Patrick know is that this amounts to a poll tax. In order for you to exercise your rights they would require you to pay a tax in the form of an insurance policy that would be unfair if no one could pay it. If I required an insurance policy for every person who would say or write something in a public forum, I would also be violating the constitution under the first amendment.
Whether or not a person chooses to exercise a right or not is up to that person. But a government that charges a fee or has some litmus test for a person to exercise their right, whether or not they choose to do so, is violating the law.
Patrick and Linsky know this and what they are doing is simply shameless political theatrics that are going to cost a lot of people a lot of money.
This should get interesting.
So many healthcare jobs in the metroplex area, and housing looks wonderfully affordable to us.
A book I just ordered, but the quote keeps coming to mind lately.
And to think that the militia in Lexington, Mass once fought the government for trying to seize their guns.
They should move the celebration to the first of the month, since they no longer take freedom seriously.
L.A. Guns?
Velvet Revolver?
;]
I DO mean that! And come on into the Metroplex (or Metromess as we call it). The only people who don't have a job are those who don't want one.
Personally, Id take the loss and move...
Been there, Done that...
For me, it was the Gay Marriage thang.
Plus, the LifeTime FID Card, which suddenly became a “Renewable” FID Card.
You can’t even “TOUCH” a pistol at a gun store without a CCW, which is arbitrarily issued by the Chief of Police of your town...
Bump for later
Oh it is worse, they have an old Flint Lock hanging on the wall way up high @ the State House. The Ship Dits putt a bleeping trigger lock on it. You have no idea of the Socialist Minds in Mass...
