All my ancestors except one Irish GGrandmother are Scottish.

Haggis is probably tasty but I just could not get up the nerve to try it. I guess my parents were the last generation who would eat Chitlins, Hogs Head Cheese, Pork Brains etc.

I guess they grew up eating it so it doesn’t seem so bad.

Everything a hog's got gits et ~ but the difference is in the how. North of the Ohio things get turned into various sorts of luncheon meats. South of the Ohio things just get chilled and sent out for sale.

That's possibly the deepest cultural divide in America.

Not to be argumentative, but why "I just could not get up the nerve to try it." -- Haggis is just heart, liver and mince, right? i've tried it and it's not that difficult to eat.

With the spiced varieties, you taste the spice.
