What are the demographics of Texas, and what are they projected to be in four years?

 

4 year old map. But accurate for now. And probably 4 years from now.

Darn it. I can’t make working link to save my life. Copy and paste everything but the “Try this” and you’ll see some official Texas demographic info. Hope this helps.

Not really sure.

What I am sure about is that you cannot judge on the basis of pure demographics alone.

1. Just because there are a lot of Hispanics here doesn’t mean they are liberal. Texas just elected a Hispanic Senator, only the second ever elected and both are conservative and Republican.
2. Texas is no California. California has always been a trendy place where the “beautiful” people live and direct their misery to the rest of the populace. Texas by contrast has always been a bastion of rugged individualism, caused by its history of being its own state, its vast size, and its lack of federal interference, represented by the very low ownership of federald lands when it became a state.

This I believe is a distraction as the Dems wish the GOP to invest time and energy to defend Texas in future elections rather than to go to other battleground states.
