CHARLOTTE, N.C.The Republican Party is looking for advice.
To kick off this week's Republican National Committee's winter strategy session, which will focus in part on how to broaden the party's appeal to women and minority voters, the RNC on Thursday launched a website soliciting ideas and constructive criticism about what the party did wrong in 2012and what it can do better over the next four years.
The site, which is part of its "Growth and Opportunity Project" created to analyze the last election, includes a wide-ranging survey seeking input on things such as whether Republicans should spend more or less time talking about the economy, national security, social issues or taxes. "Do you think the Republican Party shares your values?" it continues, after asking about demographics like race, age and gender. "Do you think the Republican Party listens to voters like you?"
The survey also asks about five areas where it needs improvement: "Diversity within the Party," "The Party's position on issues," "How the Party communicates with voters," "The process of selecting the best candidate" and "The Party's infrastructure and tactics used in campaigns."
Although Republicans dominated the 2010 midterm elections with gains in the House and Senate, Democrats retained control of the White House and Senate, and bolstered their minority in the House just two years later. President Barack Obama won 332 Electoral College votes and, perhaps more alarming for the GOP, enjoyed support from more than 70 percent of Hispanic and more than 95 percent of black voters.
Now, Republicans are keen to learn how to conduct better outreach to minorities and regain a foothold among a new pool of voters.

Look no further than that first sentence for everything that's wrong. How to get it thru their thick skulls that it is NOT about pandering to some "sector". The way to the hearts and minds of ALL Americans is thru liberty. Period. If you can articulate conservative principles, which generally, ALL Americans (and even a good amount of illegals) agree with, you'll have their vote.
The last time this was tried, there was a landslide for prez. And, the time before that, four years before that to be exact, there was another landslide. Both times even my rotten state of MA went along. But, ever since then, it's been mush and close race losses/wins.
Read the Constitution
Abide by it
Quit bending over every time a lunatic democrat says something.
Quit bending over envery time the press says something, but I repeat myself.
Do those things and I will say they will be just fine!
After all the ranting that Tea Party and patriots have been doing for the last several years concerning corrupt Congress ignoring the people and the Constitution, this request by Republican Party seems so phony.
Go to the article, follow the link ,take the survey and tell these fools what they need to do!!!!
It is discouraging that they even have to ask us. It’s only what we’ve been demanding of them for 30 years.
Perfect. I got this email from Rience (sp?) today. I chucked it but I might steal what you just wrote to suggest to them.
Or I may just forget the whole thing. They’ll probably do the same with any suggestion true conservatives offer.
Stop running big government apologists like Dole, McCain and Romney,
Over the years when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger mans clothes I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larrys record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the Pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mothers cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name and his incredible resolve and love of this country.) How ironic that he, like General Patton, was also assassinated by the communists they both despised.
Those other candidates ran as Republicans. Because I was a rabid Bircher back then (still am philosophically!), those candidates had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club Pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes.
As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local Pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign professionals ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.
Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these professionals proceeded to TORPEDO our guys campaign in subtle but effective ways.
From that experience I can tell you that the Pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.
If YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2012 and beyond and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they want to send you no-strings cash for your campaign, take it. If, however, they suggest sending in one of their professionals, tell them to fuggetaboutit.
They ARE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!!
“The common and continual mischief of the spirit of Party is
sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to
discourage and restrain it.” G. Washington
I got it too and I went and filled it out.
Tore them up, get rid of the GOP Elites, stop trying to be the Media’s friend, they hate us...etc.etc.
Allen West should be the RNC leader...
Unfortunately, I just see them making more and more mistakes. Getting rid of the weeping surrender monkey who is Speaker of the House would be a good start.
Without that, everyone and everything is going down into a a dismal hellhole.
Still, this might not even work, as there must be enough voters to vote them in. I fear that the country is so dumbed down now, that they will not have the intelligence to realize they should go in the direction that will save them.
Bring in potential voters from a selected foreign country, give them free phones, computers, tablets and games, have them vote Republican. That is how elections are “won” in the U.S. now.
Advice?
Don’t let your presidential candidate run pro-abortion ads on TV, again, that was a mistake.
There needs to be a third Party (A party for the Country Class and not the Ruling Class) if for no other reason than to cripple the GOP once and for all. The current GOP with majority power will not help us out here. The GOP has shown itself be useless, fearful, and limp-wristed in everything it does.
Well isn’t this special, Hillda had a listening tour when she ran for the senate in NY and doesn’t this sound like more of the same bull $hit.
What happened to the republican party?
Just to name a few of the mistakes they can learn from ...
The average hard working American voter has never had representation by the Republican party....never!
Today’s “kicking the can down the road” on the debt limit is a perfect example. They simply go along to get along.
They are so out of touch with the common man or woman that they think the typical American family sits around the breakfast table reading the Wall Street Journal while discussing their investments and how the market will make them some more money today.
Well! They don’t. They sit around the table alright, but the talk is about the fear of losing their jobs, inflation, the crash of the economy, the possible loss of their homes and the fact that the Republicans cave into the liberals EVERY TIME!
We need some “street savvy” and “down to earth” common citizens to represent what is important to the “commoners” here in America. We are the producers and they take what we produce and give it to the enemy.....welfare bums, special interests that help line their pockets, and the rest goes in the giant government commode to accomplish nothing that does anything but feed itself.
The Republican party has committed slow suicide over the past years and is so infected with special interests, corruption and downright self-fulfillment by the RINOs that there is no option but to form a new party before it’s too late.
If that does not happen we will all be slaves of the Government.
