It was a bad Sunday for sponsors of an meeting to create a grassroots chapter of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence at the Glenview, IL Police Station Auditorium failed miserably as supporters of the Constitution and civil rights took part in the event.
In the end, unsubstantiated assertions by the gun control advocates were challenged by a boisterous audience.
The local newspaper had this to say:
Gun Ownership Advocates Intentionally Pack Panel
(Glenview Patch) Gun ownership advocates intentionally packed Sundays gun control panel by the New Trier Democrats, as pro-gun advocates who were encouraged to come from across the state in a mass email from the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) argued and yelled at panelists throughout the program.
Remember, this is our Lexington, this is our Concord, the email read. Be prepared to teach the gun controllers a lesson in liberty.
The email also encouraged attendees to arrive between an hour and half an hour early, to ensure that there are more of OUR people there than THEIR people, according to the email. That resulted in venue at the Glenview Police Station auditorium filling up, with many would-be attendees turned away at the door.
The majority of the crowd around 2/3 were wearing NRA and ISRA paraphernalia, and holding American flags and signs, such as Shall not be infringed and Pro-second amendment. --------------cut---------------
But the boots on the ground told a more interesting story of what happened. Steven Zahareas posted the following on ISRAs Facebook page:

The local newspaper made it sound like the Constitutionalists were acting like OWS crowd, which I seriously doubt.
Not sure if this is the same, haven’t looked at both in details, but perhaps the tide is turning???

I love it....
They had a panel that advocated gun control and they got PO’ed because gun advocates showed up?
I think this is video of the same event:

The veteran does an outstanding job BTW.
flippin RATS hate when you use their tactics against them.
I believe it is the same event.
These folks have a great opportunity.
Baraq can have a sheriff deputize them and send them into the Chicago ghetto next summer to round up all the illegal guns.
Word on Illinoiscarry.com is that the gun control organizers didn’t even stand for the pledge of allegiance.
More from the link:
.......”Near the end of his involvement of the forum in the Q&A, he stated that the Second Amendment has no importance today. Then a Veteran stood up and stated that he fought for Goodmans right to say what he was saying but asked him if he would support the same restrictions on the First Amendment. No answer from Goodman”.......
The way liberals/anti-gunners hear things is that even if you whisper your views to them they will say you are yelling at them because it’s not something they want to hear at any volume.
When someone polls them, they don't mind "other" people's guns being stolen, because President Snow won't steal a union member's shotgun. Yes, they are that mentally challenged.
Me too!
I wonder what they thought they were going to accomplish with their hoped-for mutual agreement circle-jerk?
Oh, wait...

That says everything you need to know about the "New Trier Democrats."
Just another pack of communist puppets.
You can advise them that future attempts by all of their kind will be responded to in a similar fashion.

They were just upset that the gun grabbers couldn’t spew their propaganda without being challenged.
This should be a model of action for all of us.
I would follow that gentleman into combat ANY DAY! Can’t now because I’m an old coot but, was a Lt. in the Hawaii Guard
This should be called a “Right to Protect Life” movement besides a Second Amendment rights movement.
Make the link. Confuse the enemy. Tell America what legal gun ownership stands for.
