Pat forgot to mention that many Republicans, such as Goldwater, went around hailing the Truman mystique, which Pat rightfully exposes as fully fraudulent. Our “Republican” leaders can’t even find members of our own party to emulate. Is there no balm in Gilead?

The hopeful news is that, after four years, the U.S. economy appears to be recovering”

...I want good news about the economy as much as the next guy but this is BS. The amount of debt that continues to climb, the increase in entitlements, the printing of money that’s out of control and the turd’s “Cloward/Piven” approach to “fixing” the economy is not recovery!

I’ve read that Obama’s approval rating is at 52%. That doesn’t seem high for someone who has just won election. Is there any record of the opproval rating of other Presidents at the time of their 2nd inauguration?

the main event of Bill Clinton's was his impeachment and Senate trial for the Monica Lewinsky affair.

Clinton was not impeached for the "Monica Lewinsky affair" and when speaking of Clintons impeachment and trial, one should always be truthful and accurate and avoid the left's attempt to revise history.

Not to worry, he’ll have a third and fourth term to straighten out the second.

And no one is talking about the very serious situation between China and Japan.

I know its unrelated, but something caught my eye:

“FDR’s began with an attempt to pack the Supreme Court by adding new justices and a second Depression of 1937. He was rescued only by the war in Europe in 1939...”

Roosevelt was ‘rescued’ by capitulation. The packing of the supreme court was a pre-emptive threat to preserve the Wagner Act:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Labor_Relations_Act

The passing of this act (and subsequent bullying of the Supreme Court to uphold it) is one of the lowest points in American history.

Sorry for the sidebar.

The hopeful news is that, after four years, the U.S. economy appears to be recovering. Progress is slow, but we seem to be out of intensive care and walking the hospital halls.

If the "hospital halls" are full of highly infectious, very deadly bacteria/viruses, then this analogy might hold up. Who is he kidding?!

I guess I learned my lesson in November about rosy projections that give the American voter too much credit for common sense.

I’m afraid that he is about to roll roll ROLL the GOP on just about everything. They will self-destruct, the Dems will retake the house in ‘14 and the progressive agenda will sail thru on a rocket sled.

I guess my one hope is that Obamacare will be such a fustercluck it will cheese everybody off enough to reignite the Tea Party movement. But I’m not holding my breath.

And all this means what? Obama will be more unpopular in his second term? I’m sure that will keep him up at night.
