“they should be made to pay”
Who would be the “they” in this scenario?
Someone at the police station released her from custody, didn’t they? He/she/them knew the area presumably, in which case it was reckless endangerment. If he/she/them didn’t know the area, then it was reckless stupidity. Somebody signed a release form.
Unfortunately the taxpayer, however the cops that intentionally dropped her off at the “zoo” should be fired and stripped of their pensions (give the victim their pension?) and the cops boss should also be fired for keeping dangerously sadistic cops on his staff (I wonder if “Chicago’s finest” that dropped her off were “of color” and decided it was time for a little “pay back”? I doubt we’ll ever know.
The people of the City. They tolerate a police force of this caliber. They pay.
